Gen. Kevin B. Schneider, Commander of Pacific Air Forces on 6th generation aircraft, China rolling out new prototypes, and how the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) fighter stacks up: “China rolled out or just put into media at the end of 2024, you know with their two models that they tested,I think it still to be determined in terms of what the actual capabilities are of those of those platforms.

I have absolute faith and confidence that anything the U.S. produces, both in terms of a platform or the weapons on that platform, are far superior and better than what China is able to put into the sky.”

I too have full confidence that they will acquire top of the line Huaqiangbei components for NGAD if it comes to fruition.

If that's eventually the case, then I'm really wishing for that Boeing NGAD's F-XX to have canards, akin to their previous illustrations.

That's gonna be one hell of the biggest spite-on-your-face moment to all those who went "muh canards, no stealth" on the J-20 for the past 10+ years.
Just to clarify my previous post. Boeing was likely going to win NGAD (the Air Force program) according to Aviation Week. F/A-XX (the Navy Program) is still up in the air (or not).

BTW I’m surprised that TWZ didn’t write a whole article based on this one quote. Maybe even they realize how stupid it is to compare something that doesn’t exist with two flying prototypes.

Does this pose a threat to China? Can China produce them cheaper than 150k USD? China really needs to put more of that navy funds to aircrafts. Fighter jets and submarines are harder to be shot down

Depends on how capable it is. Maybe it is more appropriate for use against lower-end targets rather than high-end threats. We really don't know which environments it would be capable of operating in.
