If friendly fire, the operator mistaken a F-18 for drone/missile.
Bigger question is what is F-18 doing here. Bomb sand?
The first Hornet crew ejected 3 seconds before missile impact. That definitely saved their lives. An impact with them inside would have killed them. Quick reaction saved their lives.

B-21 is already world’s first sixth gen.
They prob knew Chinese 6 gen is coming faster, so they had to rebrand B21 for face saving.
Very technically speaking, separating bombers away from fighter generations was always a bit weird - they use same tech and same concepts ultimately.
Though calling B-21 your fighter just because it fits lots of weapons and can be used as a very good command node for subsonic battlefield is, well, quite hubirous, but mostly humorous.
