Precision guided nuclear bombs. Totally retarded concept.
If they added glide capability at least it would make some sense, since you wouldn't need to overfly the target to hit it. But no, they just added a GPS guidance package. To a nuclear bomb.

I don't quite see it as that retarded a concept.

The B61-12 is a low yield, earth penetrating device. At 0.3kt or 1.5kt selected yield, against sub-surface targets, the improvement in CEP (from ~120m down to <30m) helps a lot.

I agree glide capability will be a good improvement but not for all mission sets, definitely not for sub-surface penetration since impact velocity has direct correlation to depth of penetration.

Not exactly US Military as I don't believe it has been adopted yet, but a very cool video from Anduril on their just announced Roadrunner / Roadrunner-M VTOL jet-powered UAV.

I also like the art they produced for it.

Well at least they got the marketing down :D! Though it remains to be seen if it is really as bad as that poster made it out to be.
I am betting on yes. Management can't really hide the product quality (or lack thereof) from the people designing, assembling, or testing the products. This is based on experience.
