Austal lays Jackson (LCS 6) Keel, Third Independence-variant Littoral Combat Ship (LCS)
Austal held a keel-laying ceremony today for the third Independence-variant Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) – Jackson (LCS 6), one of five Austal-designed 127-metre US Navy Independence-variant Littoral Combat Ships under contract with the US Navy. Dr. Katherine Holmes Cochran, the ship’s sponsor, was present to weld her initials onto the keel plate as the Keel Authenticator. She was assisted by J.B. Craig, III, who is an “A” Class welder that has been part of the Austal team since November of 2011.

“Jackson (LCS 6) is the first of ten Independence-variant Littoral Combat Ships awarded by the Navy to Austal as prime contractor,” stated Craig Perciavalle, Austal USA’s Senior Vice President of Operations.

Another F-22/F-35 combo shot :

PS: I wonder whether the F-22 flashed its AN/APG-77 at the F-35.

"Break Right Jester"! My, My, I do hope he signaled a right turn? oooorrrr, Alien! four o'clock low! yeah, I'm on em! Loved the old 'peeling off" manuever, nothing else says "go get em" like that hard right break! "Tally HO!". Its Friday guys, have a good day.

They do look similar, and it wouldn't surprise me if they were, While I realize that turrets are armored and faceted for protection, would that same faceting also be L/O? The other thing I noticed is that the bow of the ship looks like a pinball table, especially with those Green Bay covers and stars on top of equipment? I did play a little pinball in college.
