I am with Popeye, Companies like Lockheed rarely attach there own designation and the paint job is wrong for lockmarts concept art. Although Northrop did paint a red hourglass on there YF23, adding a actual units insignia In this case VF-103, is not some thing done in any production line art I have ever seen other then the thunder birds F35A done with there permission. Also the Roundels on the wings are wrong the US does not use a grey insignia with red mixed in Lockheed would have used the official version, I have never seen artist concepts including "statistical" data and last but not least since 1995 the company has been known as Lockheed Martin all there work post 95 wear that name not just Lockheed We may refer too them as Lockheed or Lock-mart but they will always call them selves Lockheed martin and wear the star logo .

there are plenty of these Boeing CG images floating around

the one recent from Lockheed is somewhat official too, but i think the CG is not representative, not that the Boeing one is, both shows the ideas they are looking at

the RFI for 6th generation fighter has been opened since last year, hence the scribbles

A second US aircraft carrier has arrived in the Gulf region, the Pentagon said , calling the move “routine” and denying any link to mounting tensions with Iran. Backed by a cruiser, destroyer and with almost 80 planes and helicopters on board, the USS Carl Vinson carrier strike group “arrived in the US 5th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR)” on January 9,” a Fifth Fleet statement said.

It really is "routine" gents. CVN-70 will relieve CVN-74 on duty in the 5th fleet area of operations...the Persian Gulf region.

American soldiers urinating on dead Afghan bodies

Footage showing American soldiers urinating on dead Afghan bodies has sparked outrage across the world - with Afghanistan's leaders labelling it as a 'recruitment tool for the Taliban'.
The 'disgusting' and 'highly reprehensible' 40-second clip shows four men in combat gear standing over the three corpses with their genitals exposed as they relieve themselves.
The men can be heard joking 'Have a great day, buddy', 'Golden like a shower' and 'Yeahhhh!' as they groan with relief whilst urinating.
It has sparked anger from Afghans, with top negotiator from President Hamid Karzai's High Peace Council Arsala Rahmani, saying it will have a 'very, very bad impact on peace efforts'.

Re: American soldiers urinating on dead Afghan bodies

The men who did this are as stupid as they are shameless.

Even if you were indecent enough to want to degrade the dead like that, you have to be an idiot to think doing it in front of a camera would be a good idea.

As with any large group of people, you get a few 'bad apples'. However, if I was a US marine commander, I would be worried that such 'bad applies' seem to pop up amongst the Marines' numbers more often than any other US service.

A worrying trend I have noticed is the total lack of respect American troops seem to hold for their opponents in the Taliban (or anyone else for that matter), and often even their Afghan allies.

It is all fair enough to think you are the best and be proud of that, but to allow that to become arrogence is a grave mistake as it can easly lead to reckless behaviour that will cost you lives unnecessarily. Even if American commanders do not care about their troops dececrating enemy fallen, they should care about the underlying culture that has made this sort of thing possible.

Austal Launches 2nd US Navy Independence class Littoral Combat Ship: USS Coronado (LCS 4)
On January 10, 2012, Austal’s Mobile, Alabama shipyard completed the launch of the second 127-metre Independence-Variant Littoral Combat Ship, “Coronado” (LCS 4).

The roll-out marked Austal’s second use of an innovative self-propelled modular transporter system to transfer the ship from the yard’s final assembly bay onto a drydock for launch. This system was first used a few months ago, in September 2011, to successfully launch USNS “Spearhead” (JHSV 1). Austal and the US Navy collaborated in the design of a new set of keel stands to support the ship during construction and facilitate the transition from the assembly bay. Austal’s own self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) supplemented those of Berard Transportation of New Iberia, LA, to provide a total of 3,800 tons lift capacity, on some 104 axle lines.

LCS Dives Into Irregular Warfare With New Mission Package
WASHINGTON: The Navy's Littoral Combat Ship is now in the irregular warfare business, the top service official in charge of the program said today.

Naval Sea Systems Command is developing a new LCS mission package focusing on irregular warfare operations. Those capabilities will fall more toward the humanitarian and disaster relief-types of missions under the IW banner, LCS Program Executive Officer Rear Adm. James Murdoch, said during a speech at the Surface Warfare Association's annual conference. The IW package will bring aboard additional medical and other support capabilities to care for victims of a natural disaster, Murdoch said. Congressional lawmakers approved funding for the new LCS mission package in the fiscal 2012 Defense Authorization Act. Once complete, the new IW package will be the fourth one designed for the LCS. The current ship modules cover surface warfare, counter-mine and anti-submarine operations. Along with the IW mission package, program officials are also developing a fifth mission package designed for maritime security operations, a NAVSEA official added.
