Another fact: Erdogan has made a true nuisance of himself via his all too frequent backstabs, something noticed by everyone on this forum (let alone national leaders). Would you be cheering on the same when the wind changes and Turkey is getting screwed?

I think Tor or Pantsir or Tunguska are fine if you're fighting a country with UAVs here and there. If you're fighting a superpower who can flood the area with a wave of UAV every 30 minutes then something more will be required.

You can never go wrong with combat air patrols. Once you have air superiority, you can quite easily bring these drones down with fighters.
That or bomb the airbases the drones are taking off from

This is getting off topic, But I have to defend Erdogan here. Of all post-Ataturk leaders, Erdogan's record isn't that terrible. That's not really to complement Erdogan, but rather to say that Turkish leadership in general has been quite mediocre, and very unstable. In fact the current hyperinflation Turkey is facing isn't the first, nor the worst.

Thanks to SAC for sending me updates based on what he has been able to find.

Loads of pages to read, probably far too much as I have work to catch up on as well.

Briefiest possible summary is that the overwhelmingly vast majority of what is being broadcast and printed in the west is utter bilge.
The total lack of combat footage from the Ukrainian side is I think testament to what is really happening.

Three things very briefly.
1) Just watched the video of the so called missile strike against the Government building in Kharkov. I watched it frame by frame. No sign of any bomb or missile in the final moment, the building just blows up. It rather looks like a deliberate destruction by the Ukrainian forces is a move straight out of the Syrian playbook.

2) Rapid movement from "plucky Ukrainian resistance" to "Uman Rites violations" suggests Ukrainian army is being eaten alive in situ. Again straight out of the Syrian playbook.

3) Usual dodgy and near useless out of date and deliberately misinformative maps from BBC and other MSM media. In other conflicts, we have been lucky to have dedicated map researchers and makers, providing us with accurate information.
