I agree this is China's best chance to drive a real hard bargain for tech transfer of systems like Avangard, scramjets, S-550, S-500s A-235 etc etc... Its not everyday an oppurtunity like this presents itself

In the Post Peak Energy world, national security aka holding on to what you got, is more important than raw GDP or so-called "growth"...

Interesting report ...

Russia's state news agency RIA published an article early on Saturday celebrating Russia's quick victory over Ukraine. Putin is praised there for having restored the "unity of Russia" by defeating Ukraine. The article was obviously prepared in case of the expected quick victory - and then published by mistake. The article was then removed from the web again, but can still be accessed in web archives.

This seems to be Russia's equivalent o Bush's "Mission Accomplished" speech.

Sometimes I’m reading this thread and it’s “the Ukrainians this” or “Ukrainians did that”. Really bugs me the way Western media says “The Chinese are like this…”

It would be obliged to remember that Zelensky was primarily elected on an anti corruption/economic improvement platform, not a “Anger Russia and join NATO” one. This has been true for the election of all his predecessors as well. As someone mentioned, the per capita GDP of Ukraine is worse than USSR times, and actually worse than Belarus which is run by someone who is almost universally considered a clown.
Donald Trump was elected on a peace, isolation and conservatism platform. Yet his rule was marked by non-peace, non-isolationism and the rise of businesses of questionable morality in the US. He himself is not religious nor does he live a traditional family oriented lifestyle.

Campaign promises are not governing actions, governing actions are governing actions.

And since now Turkey decided to implement Monrtreaux convention, by limiting access to warship to Black sea.. I wonder if Ukraine can capitalize it by say.. Using Grom Ballistic missile to attack Sevastopol. Otherwise Russian fleet may just use Sevastopol as base to re-arm and resupply.

Range of TBM.jpg

Grom was said to be co-developed with Saudi. I'm curious however if it ever enter service domestically and in considerable number. It offers Ukraine with Iskander/Tender like ability to strike standoff distance target.

If enough number can be provided the Sevastopol S-300 site can be saturated, it may also have enough range to strike Crimean bridge, cutting Crimea from Russian mainland.

FOX News reported the 37 km long Russian convoy (multiple armored divisions) has reached the Antonov airbase.

The whole planet literally watched it roll from Russia to Kiev, without getting interdicted.

What happened to the Ukrainian Ghosts and drones?

What's Ukrainian for "surgical strike"?
