When people say Ukraine is industrialized and developed, keep in mind Ukraine’s GDP per capita, on PPP basis, is about the same as civil war torn Libya and Sri Lanka.

It was twice as high under the Soviet Union, and actually higher than that in Russia SSR. It is now less than half of that in Russia.
I am not sure this statistics are correct. Ukraine raw physical exports are about $75B. than you add service exports. that you give you close to $100b for practical inside residing population of less than 30 million. (These figures exclude the Russian occupied part). fundamentally its a rich country. just need proper management.
Ukraine has significant Jewish population and some of the world richest and most influential upto US supreme court. Wealthiest person in UK born in Odessa Ukraine.

name those products and in particular the specific engine model supplied.

Al-25TLK for JL-8, AL-222 for JL-15, Zubr landing craft, plus historically speaking a lot of their early Flanker developments were aided with Ukrainian engineers or complete prototypes. J-15 is such an example.

Sometimes I’m reading this thread and it’s “the Ukrainians this” or “Ukrainians did that”. Really bugs me the way Western media says “The Chinese are like this…”

It would be obliged to remember that Zelensky was primarily elected on an anti corruption/economic improvement platform, not a “Anger Russia and join NATO” one. This has been true for the election of all his predecessors as well. As someone mentioned, the per capita GDP of Ukraine is worse than USSR times, and actually worse than Belarus which is run by someone who is almost universally considered a clown.

OK, so some low power engines for 2 trainers that can be replaced by Russian engines and was being built domestically anyhow.

Zubr, a tactical system that isn't deployed in large numbers, could've been bought from Russia or Greece, AND was basically buying what Ukraine would've scrapped.

T-10K-3 predecessor to J-15, which was an incomplete prototype that could've been bought from Russia instead.

My god the PLA would be crippled without the Ukrainians.
