If I were the Russians, I would not completely surround Kyiv. Instead I would leave a evacuation corridor open and try to squeeze all the civilians out of the city first.

Two days ago, I was posting reports that Kherson was still contested. However, many, here, accepted a map that has been posted, repeatedly, as factual, seemingly based on its being posted repeatedly.
Just for my interest, are you familiar with the term signal city?
I do recall that. Everywhere else and from everyone else has been going on about Kherson in Russian hands.

I got a source saying 82nd Airborne Division readiness has been reduced from defcon 2 (ready for war in 6 hours) to defcon 3. If one were to guess:
- Putin waving the nuclear stick
- pace of operation in Ukraine has increased, they may judge that they not be able to make a difference any more at this rate
