Good luck trying to get a single deal in the future with Singapore or even Chinese trade partners if you basically default on all your loans.

Preparing for the forced conversion of deposits from foreign currency into rubble in the next days probably. Argentina 2.0.
some one has to use energy, eat food, use Russia railway and roads. Egypt has second raise of Tolls for Suez canal. i am sure rest of Arab world going to increase even more when they see increasing dependence over long term.
do you think Turkey can replace Russian/Ukranian grains?

what he stands to gain is the continued credibility of russia as a nuclear power and with that an ability to pursue an independent economic and foreign policy. Unlike china, russia has poor industrial organization, moribund demographics and little extent economic and financial power outside resource exploitation, russia would decay to a minor power of no cobsequence if her nuclear deterrence is nullified and she can no longer pursue independent foreign and economic policies.
If you think that this invasion gives Russia the ability to "pursue an independent economic and foreign policy" then I got a bridge to sell you.

My only comment is this: Beijing is shaking from excitement. Let's leave it at that

He has only accelerated the end of all Russian ambitions. It's a pitiful end for a country.

seriously, while superficial public discussion may fail to reveal this, Russian stake in this is greater than even china’s stake in Taiwan.
Primarily caused by the corner they have painted themselves in with no out. It's either complete victory or complete defeat. No middle ground. No exit strategy. No carrot, only stick. No wonder the Ukrainians is fighting with everything they got as have no other choice. Submit or die. Worked wonders for resistance througout history

Putin would’ve done better to have gone all in on Syria using the “kill a chicken” approach! He was probably more concerned, there, with not alienating Turkey as a potential arms buyer. So much for that, now!
