CN going to throw RU under the bus like they have done with NK in the past to appease US?
In case this is about the US then ignore the below

It seems that China is increasingly sending more pointed messages to Russia.

My interpretation:
"Dude just finish your stuff quickly and stop fcking around. I cant diplomatically cover you for a long time"

Practically, things will remain the (or mostly) same but pressure might be increasing to China with each passing day that Putin wastes on doing "brother" war by giving flowers and kisses to the Ukrainian Army.

Yemen war is going on since 2015. This war lasts decades. China needs to shut up and focus on Taiwan.

i imagine some sort of agreement can be made in which China will diplomatically speak for sovereignty but still provides all the necessary economic support for Russia, why not? it benefits China as well to be the only major trading partner with Russia (india is not quite as big)

as for putin's negotiation, i think it can be viewed as a part of Moscow's internal machination as well. it could be putin's way of applying pressure on the military to move a bit faster. the military probably will have this week to make significant progress like completely surrounding kiev and taking kharkov. they are very achievable goals, but the point is putin needs a significant victory at this point. (significant in the eyes of media and social media, from a military stand point ukr army is getting wooped)

Kiev cannot be taken. Kiev is a diversion. Hell, not even Gulf monarchies can take Sanaa in Yemen after years.
