MRAP armed with heavy machine guns can be devastating to anti tank missile teams, provided good recon is available.

Before yes. After Ukraine no. Its an luxury EU can't afford anymore. Just like the old Soviet times.
And the harder Russia is with Ukraine both now and after Ukraine is defeated, the harder the EU resolve will be.
Nothing like a common existential threat to unite people and countries.

Add that Ukraine might also become a sort of "not again" banner in regards to Taiwan.
Wow, that's beautiful speech!
Reminds me of a viral pro-Israeli youtube video a few back named "Never Again" I believe. I can't find it again.
I am sure you will have great support and love from Protestant/Christian USA.
So, a tip to the Taiwanese: convert to Christianity, especially US evangelical churches. That will earn them Taiwanese plenty of zealous supporters from the USA.

As long as space program not focusing on space shuttle, it’s very unlikely any country would build plane such like an225. Kind of tragic both start and ending of AN-225
Shilao made a great statement yesterday on the live broadcast about AN-225:

"It took a great nation to create such a wondrous machine, but it only took a single shell an instant to destroy it."

it looks like they're keeping their ENTIRE strategic aviation and naval aviation on reserve. They seem to be expecting foreign intervention.
I think that is the logical conclusion. It baffles me we haven't heard a single report of SU-34 in combat when they have 3 air bases near the border with Ukraine stationed with them. I thought they'd be leading the charge from day 1 in the air.

After almost 7000 posts on the subject I don’t think anyone mentioned the true underlying cause of the Ukraine crisis (or other flashpoints around the globe post COVID) — the global economic pie is getting smaller. Nations are like rats trapped in a cage with a wheel of shrinking cheese, and carnage is inevitable.
Partly true. But I think the other reason is Putin has seen how weak America has become.

Russians like chess. Americas the weakest they've been since WW2. They watched as Afghanistan unfolded. They also know they don't have forever, maybe in 10-20 years a technology is invented that makes ICBMs obsolete.

They've waited a long time to do this, and I'm sure they've thought about the multiple scenarios that could play out.

I'm still wondering at what point the western leaders are going to tell their public they're now in a nuclear standoff.

Allegedly, footage of TB-2 drones bombing a Russian convoy. Based on the Ukranian operators, they were searching/targeting BUK SAMs specifically:

Some speculate that this might have been a Chechen convoy that foolishly broadcasted its location by posting selfie videos on the Internet.

It's borderline unfathomable that the Russians would not protect their columns with point defense SAMs like the Tunguska or Pantsir, even though there is photo evidence that such systems have been sent to Ukraine. If this is an oversight on behalf of Russia's high command then there would be hell to pay (just got word that Gen. Gerasimov has been relieved of command).
