The Ukranian army is likely keeping its forces in reserve, until the the focus/focii of the Russian invasion are better understood. The defense of the cities will largely be handled by the Ukranian Territorial Defense Forces.

Russia is at the final stage of its invasion, encircling Kiev; the military and its capacity has been completely obliterated. Although infantry units continue fighting back with some limited success the Russians have outmatched and out gunned the Ukrainian forces. There are videos circulating of Ukrainian commanders burning classified documents.

Several Mi8(s) shot down
Several T72s destroyed
A few dozen light infantry vehicles and logistics units destroyed

However Ukraine’s military response has been inadequate to say the least and unable to cope with the vast numerical and technological supremacy of the Russian ground forces.

I think you are wrong on this. Several politicians in Ukraine have said outrageous things that would be unthinkable in the west. The Azov battalion is also part of the Ukranian military.

What would people say if any European military today had a detachment that openly carried Nazi insignia and called for racial genocide? Would you just ignore it?

By integrating them into the official Ukranian establishment the current government should be held accountable for them.

The only thing I am finding amusing is the Reddit arm chair generals being completely wrong and getting obliterated after circle jerking themselves for the last couple months.

These new live threads on reddit where everyone says that they will sanction Russia to the ground, and the someone says that China will just cover its back are delicious.

I will never stop watching their amazement that China dared to help Russia lol

China hasn't helped Russia. It's trying to stay away from this as far as possible. It has voiced understanding for Russia's claimed reasons for acting. That is all. It isn't pro Russia or Ukraine here. It is simply anti-NATO probably because US led military aggression/tensions on China is similar.

I respectfully disagree. We know that Russia is attacking with air assaults. We know their goal is likely Kiev. We know that the Russian armored formations are still some distance away from these air assault units.
If I am the Ukrainian commander, I would have sent at least some of my mobile reserves out to counterattack. Destroying these airborne units can inflict major losses on the Russians. Yet no such movement has been made.
