According to an official statement from Slovakian MOD, they were replaced with 4 batteries of Patriot SAMs:

Security of the Slovak Republic and our citizens is our highest priority. That is why we decided to make this decision in the moment, when we have the adequate replacement for the S-300 system, as we had stated before. Fourth battery of the Patriot system, one of the most modern air-defence systems, provided by our Allies, will be deployed in Slovakia. Together, four batteries of the Patriot system will cover the territory of the Slovak Republic. Due to the technical condition, limited options of maintenance and age of the S-300 system, the deployment of the fourth battery of the Patriot system is great news for Slovakia and at the same time tremendous help for Ukraine.”

puppet state in southeast/east. This will ensure Russia is a long-term defacto presence in Ukraine so it can have a permanent veto over Ukrainian foreign policy, something a mere paper treaty can't guarantee.

Anything short of this is not worth the 10-15 years of lost economic growth for only DNR/LNR/Crimea and paper treaty.

At this point I imagine Russians would want pretty much the whole of the Ukraine.

Talk about a downgrade. I would have just asked for the money.

Patriot batteries are $1 billion a pop, that's $4 billion for free. Slovakia's entire military budget is less than $2 billion a year.

The first videos and photos are emerging that show the presence and give evidence of probable control of Russian and DPR Forces at the Port of Mariupol. With the Ukrainians having been ousted and/or fled Port and the Primorsky District of far southwestern Mariupol now largely under the control of the Russians and the DPR, the one remaining stronghold the Ukrainians in the city of Mariupol is the Azovstal Steelworks.

Azov captured more than 100 sailors in the port

This became known to the @wargonzo project from sources in the Mariupol seaport. At least 7 dry cargo crews were shot dead at the time of the fighting. In fact, the neo-Nazis took them hostage and the sailors were held captive for more than a month. These are citizens of Russia and other countries.

Very soon, the @wargonzo project will publish irrefutable evidence of exactly how
and with what weapons the militants blocked civilian ships in the port of Mariupol.

The Russians and the DPR are definitely now in the port, and even if they are not fully in control of it now, they very likely will be within a week's time.
