them with the no gas, blackouts, reduced economic activity?
May experience blackouts at some places, but industries that uses gas will be heavily affected. Natural gas is not only used for electricity generation, German chemical industry for example, relies on cheap Russian gas. If they can't solve their problem in the long term, businesses will go bankrupt, then those manufacturing plants gets gutted or moved overseas, and eventually their supply chain will consolidate around overseas import, lowering or destroying the value of their industries.

Well they will still need stuff...for example : no gaz no car in Germany. China will build a sh**load of LNG ship, the US will sell his fuel and fracking gaz to Europe. We have new oil industries projects here in Canada for this booming prospect, government is salivating. The price of grains will go sky high too. Who will feed Europe next winter ? Europe will be milked until they look like dry grapes.

So they will pay for Russian gaz...or darkages for 10 years.

Russia isn't Iran. An escrow account that Russia doesn't have control of is pretty much paying nothing for Russian energy.

It is actually worst.

require all Russian energy revenues to be allocated for humanitarian purposes

AKA. I’ll store that money in an account owned by me and I can spend it as I see fit. I think Ukraine needs an extra $30 billion/day for humanitarian purposes.

So in response to that ingenious proposition, Putin just need to ask to be paid in advance for the next 6 month of gaz like the way they have done in the past month and reserve the right to cut gaz when he likes?
