In the center of Athens, rallies against rising prices and against the involvement of Greece in the events in Ukraine :

This is an aspect of the war that will play against Ukraine. As the war drags on, european support will wane as life becomes more difficult for the rest of europe as a byproduct of their own sanctions and shortages caused by lack of access to wheat, oil, gas, etc.

Which will be made more difficult by an already existing trend towards inflation.

Agreed with your Armenia analogy. Russia is basically in Azerbaijan's position right now and the Azeris and their TB-2s hammered the Armenians.

The only problem with mass deployment of drones is I think they will quickly become obsolete. There aren't any turboprop "fighter drones" in deployment but when they come, we'll see an increase of jet powered drones.

In other words I think we'll be witnessing a rapid evolution of drone technology that mirrors the evolution of fighter/bombers post ww2.
Unlike airplanes, drones can be considered consumables like bombs and ammo, so even outdated ones have some utility in certain situations.

The playstation generation means that's not a problem. It doesn't even need to be 1:1. You could have a wingman set up where one operator controls a group of them together. When one drone is out of bombs you hit "return to base" and switch over to the next one. Or just have them flying over areas of interest passively and switch to them for manual control when needed.

On the ground logistics and support could be a limiting factor.
There will be drone disruptors... Don't ask me how it works... I cannot tell you... But I can imagine that there will be drone disrupters... Some kind of anti drone radiation beams or com signal disrupters - maybe...

There is this debate going on in NZ that we should send more weapons to Ukraine. There's this suggestion that we should send more than 100 Javelin missiles left in store to the Ukranians. The belief is these Javelins could take out dozens of Russian tanks.

I 've come across mixed reports of these Javelins, and would like to know what people here think of them.

On the territory of the production association "Khimprom" SBU employees mined a storage facility with 120 tons of chlorine. It is planned that this repository will be blown up in order to accuse Russia of creating a chemical catastrophe that caused the death of local residents" Konashenkov said at a briefing.

If Ukraine claimed that it needs 500 Javelin missiles daily is true, then 100 extra Javelin missiles wouldn't do much. The kill ratio of Javelin missiles is pretty low. You probably are looking at best 10 missiles for one kill if you take Ukrainian claims as a fact.

Ukrainian control ship [U500] “Donbass” of the project 304 class NATO designation Amur; Destroyed after receiving numerous hits from Russian forces in Mariupol.

Earlier this month Russian forces destroyed the Ukrainian reconnaissance ship Simferopol; allegedly by naval commandos near the border of Romania.

Russian Forces continue to mop up the remnants of the Ukrainian Navy; however the Ukrainian navy still has several Project 58155 Gyurza-M class boats still in active service that have evaded Russian capture and destruction.

Javelins are very good but heavy and hardly transportable by foot for long distances. So you need transport that become easy targets presently.

Probably a third of that 100 will be destroyed on shipping and a tenth captured without being used. On the remaining, most will be used against cars, trucks, barns, houses, bushes, etc. Mayby 10 will be used against armored targets destroying 5 MBT in the lot.

So it will be way more than one million per obsoletes T-72 that Russia have fields full of them to get destroyed....

Yes they hurt, very good in ambush, but in the end, it's just pushing back the date of Russian take over of the east and bring up the level of destruction of Ukraine.

wow. i wonder where they're using those Javelins. are they include Russian infantry concentration too beside vehicles ? We should see more Javelin footages. But so far we got artilleries pummeling those poor Russian coloumns.
