Just a personnel opinion: It is in fact nothing but a huge waste of time, lives, and money!

Whether it is a waste of time, lives and money is relative to the outcome and for which party. There are many more parties to this conflict than just Ukraine and Russia. And if we are honest to ourselves, we really do not know what will be the final outcome of this war. That is why we have such a divergence of opinion in this thread.

However, one thing most of us will agree with you is that for Ukraine, this is indeed a huge waste of time, lives and money, irrespective of what the outcome of the war turns out.

Just my 2 cents worth.

This is most likely fake. The original ASB got banned and he isn't posting about the Ukraine war anymore because of the laws in his country. This account is stealing his name and putting out a lot of ridiculous claims without sources.
They guy who did the whole "debunked" of Oryx analysis seems received some
backlash by larger OSINT account
It's easy to be a bigger account when you're a NATO shill.
Did we have Russian Kamikaze drone videos before? I think this might be an answer/escalation to the shipments of Switchblade loitering munitions.
There's been a few videos from this conflict, but Russians don't seem to be using them much.

And just when I think I was right........ :(

Recent events changed my take on this conflict. Russia is giving up on the real threats on Kiev (potential taking of the capital and black sea coast) which means it gave up on regime change (denazification as they call it), too, and they say they will only focus on donbass. In addition, now, Putin says Germany/EU has until April 15 for ruble payments (two week extension which I see as backtracking). So overall, very halfhearted approach both in Ukraine and in economic/political front. To put it crudely: You go all the way or you go home. Therefore, I see Russia as the loser of this war, now. Ukraine will be die hard anti-Russia country, Russia lost a lot men, and suffered economic losses. what will they get? *maybe* recognition of Crimea :D

They can aim for the next best thing I guess, a land locked Ukraine with weak economy, still it requires them to not half ass the war

and after taking those regions, making Ukraine into a landlocked country, they might create new government with the Ukrainian opposition, then destabilize what's left of Ukraine even further, by doing precision strikes on Ukraine's infrastructure once in a while, and creating an environment of terror, causing Ukrainians to migrate to EU or Russia/Rebel provinces, destabilizing the EU. There's a lot of actions both parties can take that could worsen the situation, and its going to be massive tragedy for all. :(

Indeed, in principle I believe long protracted war is bad for any country as taught by Sun Tzu; However I do wonder how affordable it is for Russia to keep a low intensity front in Ukraine indefinitely, like you said it would be one way for Russia to solve the Ukraine problem.

Is Russia pulling troops from areas of Kiev West of the Dnieper or from the complete Kiev area?
