Humanitarian flights for Ukraine loaded with weapons, protesting airport workers claim

Airport workers in Italy claim “humanitarian” cargo from Pisa was actually aimed at fuelling the conflict

One of Italy’s largest trade unions has called for a protest outside the Pisa airport on Saturday, after receiving a tip from some employees that Ukraine relief flights were transporting weapons and ammunition, not food and medicine.

Several workers at the Galileo Galilei airport refused to load one of the cargo flights advertised as carrying humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The crates did not contain food and medication but weapons, ammunition and explosives instead, the Unione Sindacale di Base (USB)

in a statement on Monday evening.

“We strongly denounce this outright falsification, which cynically uses ‘humanitarian’ aid as cover to fuel the war in Ukraine,” the USB said.
The union said the workers refused to load the military supplies as that would lead to the deaths of their colleagues in Ukraine – namely, those working at the bases targeted by Russian missile strikes, where the weapons processed through US and NATO bases in Poland get delivered.

Francesca Donato, an Italian member of the European Parliament, commented on the union’s statement by

Meanwhile, dockworkers at the nearby port of Livorno

on Tuesday, praising their airport colleagues for standing up for their values.

“We stand alongside the Ukrainian peoples, the Donbass and Russia and we do not want to be complicit in this conflict,” the Porto Livorno chapter of USB said in a statement.

USB is calling for air traffic control of the Pisa airport to “immediately block these flights of death disguised as humanitarian aid.” A protest under the slogan “bridges of peace, not flights of war” is scheduled outside the airport for Saturday, March 19.

The union also called on all workers to refuse to load weapons and explosives, and for an immediate ceasefire and peace talks to end the conflict in Ukraine.

Russia sent troops into Ukraine on February 23, saying it needs to demilitarize and “denazify” the government in Kiev that sought NATO membership and nuclear weapons. The Ukrainian government has accused Russia of an unprovoked attack. NATO has pledged military and humanitarian aid to Kiev, while enacting a widespread embargo against Russia.
Well no kidding they are full of weapons. The same thing was done with Humanitarian corridors in Syria. It was nothing more than a lull in the fighting for the west and Turkey to get more weapons into the area and for insurgents to regroup and dig in.

Do the Russians not have the equivalent of the Javelin that performs comparably effectively?
Nope. Russia currently has no man-portable, fire-and-forget, top attack ATGMs in operation. The closest that Russia has is the Kornet-EM ATGM that has auto target-tracking. But it still flies to its target like a regular SACLOS ATGM. Why Russia doesn't have a Javelin-type ATGM today? Only they can answer this question.

"People should stop coming here.. it's a trap." Testimonies of mercenaries in Ukraine (videos)

In an English-language video, one of the mercenaries said: "We were part of the 102nd Georgian National Corps of the Ukrainian Regional Defense Forces..the base was destroyed, and the base next to us was destroyed..Americans..British..many of the dead are British..they don't say anything." And they count our dead among their dead.”

He added: "They are trying to send us to Kyiv without weapons or equipment.. When they wanted to send us to Kyiv, we refused.. A whole group of Americans, British and Canadians. They told us that we must leave or they will shoot us from behind. So I accompanied another British and American, who hid in An ambulance to escape."

And he continued: "We arrived at the border, and there we faced another problem..Anyone who reaches the border in military uniform, is pulled from the line and sent again to fight.. We descended close to the border and continued on foot. We met a group of veterans from the British forces.. they told us." We must get rid of our military uniforms, because they are detaining people, tearing off their passports, and sending them to fight.

He continued, "People should stop coming here..it's a trap..and they don't allow anyone to leave."

While another video clip showed a mercenary in his military uniform and in front of a military base, he spoke in French, saying: "The base was bombed..and there are friends who died..the base was destroyed..and to the people who say that this is not true.. look.. there are traces of the bombing too".

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that its forces bombed a training center for foreign mercenaries in Lvov, western Ukraine, killing 180 of them and destroying a warehouse of Western weapons flowing into the aforementioned camp.

"Russian forces killed 180 foreign mercenaries and a group of foreign weapons with strikes on training centers at the Yavorovsky military base near Lvov on the Polish border," said the ministry's spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov.

Captured PSRL-1 in Mariupol 2.jpg

Captured US-made PSRL-1 in Mariupol. Its an American clone of the RPG-7, designed and manufactured by AirTronic USA. Supplied to Ukraine since 2017.

American weapons makers, both big and small are profiting from Ukraine. According to South Front, these were apparently sold to Ukraine at a price of $5,454.75 per unit. According to open-sourced information, an original RPG-7 costs around $500 - $2000 for the launcher, and around $100 - $500 for the rocket. Taking the highest estimate of $2500 for a full set of RPG-7 launcher and rocket. Ukraine is paying more than double the price for each PSRL-1. Granted, the PSRL-1 is an improvement over the original RPG-7. But does the price tag justifies those improvement? They are essentially identical in application on the battlefield.

Funny. When the US clones a Soviet-era weaponry, its never called an American knock off junk. In America's case, their knock-off is even more expensive than the original.

Seriously, what is with the race investigation going on? We just need to know:

Is alive or dead?
If dead, where?
If indeed dead, by what means? shelled? heavy direct fire? counter sniper? airstrike?
From what I read from several sources in Telegram, Twitter, socmed platforms and article, the Canadian ace sniper was dead, likely shelled by precision strike. Too much coverage on him, and in high profile, in the media, should attract the attention of Russian force. An uncorroborated article on his death

from time to time to see if any sign of life. No hard proof atm... this is a war zone... later some further info may prop out, hopefully. IMO he's just a silly veteran loving violent adventure, like many others, with experiences facing the goat herders and desert fellas in the Third World, thinking those are the world he's seeing in Ukraine.

I have no idea at all why those war veterans in the West equalize Russian forces with the backward ones in poor, weak and defenseless nations. So out of minds, so bizarre... beyond my comprehension... no wonder many people like those are itchy for military conflict with China in the Asian theater! The western world is really weird!

That's a lot of money for RPG-7 with like six extra picatinny rails.
You know if you want RPG-7 that's value for your money but don't want to buy Russian the correct choice is Type 69 RPG, your local friendly Norinco salesperson can hook you up.

Another kill-assist for Reddit?

Getting schacked 20 minutes into a fight, as a sniper, is pretty pathetic even for a video game.

I have always held significant reservations about the value of the much vaunted western ‘combat experience’ from their foreign misadventures and how the western volunteers are performing is proving those doubts right.

It’s one thing beating down on people who don’t have the means to fight back in any meaningful way, it’s another ball game entirely fighting a peer or near-peer opponent.

To use a much over-used quote from Tyson, everyone has a plan until you punch them in the mouth.

Thus far the west has only fought opponents who had no way to punch them back, never mind in the mouth and with feeling. It’s like a gym teacher who thinks he is some combat superman because none of the primary school kids he habitually beats down on can touch him. All his combat experience developed from fighting children is going to count for very little if he ever steps into the ring with another adult fighter.
