Tom Shughart seems pretty convinced it's an LHA/D not an LNG carrier:

I'll just quote-post his tweet here.

Regarding the FFG: If that hull doesn't belong to the 054B and isn't civilian, then I believe that it could either be a 054A-mod for the CCG, or it could be the 1st unit of a new (5th, hopefully final) batch of 054As for the PLAN.

Now with detailed satellite photographs taken less than two weeks ago, turns out that said drydock is actually wide enough to accomodate both the 075/075-mod/076 LHD and the LNG carrier/civilian ship.

@Deino @para80 FYA.

So much for the "that ship is definitely an LNG carrier" "only one ship under construction at the drydock" "no space for another ship to be built alongside the existing one", @by78.

Now that we have some clearer pictures, I'll pin this thread for a little while and see what comes of it.

I think it's still very much possible that it is a civilian ship of some sort, but the likelihood if it being a naval ship is also rising a bit. Whether it's 076 or another 075 is another matter.

If it is a warship, but not a LHD, I'm wondering if it could be an AOR?

Not dual 40m rail, single 90m rail, see the module on the left side of 054a, and the same module above.
