Something new by @伏尔戈星图 on Weibo regarding the 076 LHD. Due to the limitation on the number of images permitted per post, his post will be divided into two parts.

Part 1:

Roughly translated:
Figures 1 to 4 are from the team of Professor Ren Huilong of Harbin Engineering Group. Figure 4 is a cross-section of the right half of the ship. It is a schematic diagram of several cross-section slices. This picture shows that there is a floating structure on the right side of the ship. The ship's full load displacement is calculated to be approximately 48,000 tons.

Ren Huilongha engineering hull structure attack team, responsible for 071, 075, 076 large landing ship.

Continued.

Part 2:

Roughly translated:
Figures 5 to 8 show that in order to cooperate with the 708 Research Institute and the 702 partner Wuxi Hydrodynamic Test, the 076 ship procurement contract accurately points to the Wuxi test. Figures 3 and 7 accurately show that the cross section of the middle part of the ship is a straight wall. Figure 8 is a large-scale hydrodynamic test model of the ship with the superstructure removed. It has a direct access to the deck and floats outward.

The ship has a cruise requirement of about 15-18kn and a standard full speed requirement of 23kn.

Also, related to my most recent post in the Chinese shipbuilding industry thread - @伏尔戈星图 on Weibo seems to indicate that the 1st 076 LHD unit has began construction at the new HZ site on Changxin Island.

If this is indeed anywhere close to factual, considering that the concrete pouring work of the new HZ drydock has just been completed barely more than a month ago, then that's really damn fast...

Maybe at risk ruining the party, but - besides rumours - what makes us think this is a 076?

Other than persistent rumors that the 1st 076 LHD will be built at the new HZ site, apparently there have been quite some bidding papers for component/equipment procurement related to the 076 LHD by HZ (or related departments/units) for quite some time.

I don't have much further details on that, unfortunately.

Some more findings by @伏尔戈星图 on Weibo.

还有舷外延伸平台,居然有考虑大约15米宽度的,而且还要模拟该平台在不同高度砰击。。。

这个平台居然有不同高度的试验需求。。。
There is also an outboard extension platform, which has a width of about 15 meters and has to simulate the slamming of the platform at different heights...

This platform actually has different height test requirements...

He mentioned that there could be one deck-edge elevator (perhaps two, but he's unsure) on the 076 LHD, similar in style to the ones on the Wasp LHD and America LHA.

I honestly can't make out any meaningful features from that pic other than that it's a vague black hull bottom shape but since Deino bothered to post it I trust that he has checked his source. Right Deino? :p

I think that is just the shadow of the drydock wall from the late morning sun.

Normal observation in time sequence would be like
1 Laying of keel blocks inccordance to the hull size along the drydock floor before arrival of modules
2 Fabricated modules of various sizes started to arrive at the waiting area beside the drydock.
3 Modules brought into the drydock will be added every few weeks and would take months to show shipshape.

The suddent appearance of a large military ship hull in advance contruction stage in open-air drydock with-out any notice from various government and private profit-taking satellite obsevation agencies is very extremely unlikely.
