It seems that Kizilelma prototype 3 has reduced if not dropped the purpose of canard+lerx combo to generate greater lift over main wing. That kind of greater lift is mostly for high AOA, not for level flying. It makes me wonder why choose this complex configuration at all.

The mounting point of canard in all prototypes are slightly lower than the main wing. Up to prototype 2, the lerx is dipped below the canard root which facilitate more air going above the main wing, in conjunction with the angles of the canard and main wing. Looking at prototype 3 from the side, that dipping is gong and it is clear that the canard root is below the main wing. The upward angle of the canards and downward angle of the main wings are quite small. This essentially makes this configuration using canard almost purely as a forward mounted horizontal stablizer without much of the lift generation function in other canard configurations.

Also no slats.

IMO it's because the thing is so light, it just doesn't need all that lift at all. Remember, it has a wing area of 37m2 with a MTOW of 8500kg.

Hürkuş 2 in flight? Wait, how? Nice.

Edit: Wrong alarm. The account is just trolling I guess.

Edit 2: They say the photo is representative but the flight is real.
