Nice catch actually. It may be this engine too. This is the engine they try to keep under the sheets as much as possible for some reason. Baykar will use this for Kalkan maybe? I remember Dr. Aksit previously wanted to keep the numbers of an engine private in a presentation and people were speculating that it must be pg115.

Edit: nope, Kalkan uses Erin motor's 12 HP baykuş engine.

Do you guys know if serial production of Altay started in the new factory or the old one? New factory seems complete from outside. Of course we don't know how it is inside.
Construction project of BMC Power's manufacturing plant FAZ-1 has a due date of 06.2025. However, we know that construction projects can be completed faster than expected in Türkiye. Someone must go there and check it out :) Based on the satellite image, road connection has not been finished yet, so serial production having started there is a low probability.

Fun fact, with this new facility, the amount of engines BMC Power currently produces at the 1st main maintenance factory will at least double with this new facility. Defence Turkey Magazine issue 131:

This added production capacity will come in handy for both the domestic AFV market as well as exports.

I think FAZ-2 might be for engine production.

These photos are from FAZ 1 probably around July-September last year. Now FAZ-1 exterior looks complete. FAZ-2 currently might be in a similar state as FAZ-1 in these photos.

Turkish Aerospace, TUSAŞ Engine Industries and GE Aerospace Sign MOU to Extend Collaboration on HÜRJET Advanced Training Jet Program

tei_fia.jpg

  • GE Aerospace F404 turbofan engines would be integrated into the HÜRJET program’s new variants
  • Complementary capabilities among three companies support success of first Turkish-manufactured training jet
  • TEI would assemble, inspect, and test the F404 engines, and provide MRO services
Under the agreement, the three companies agreed to pursue collaboration on flight testing of the HÜRJET program’s new variants and to explore applications of other engine and system products of GE Aerospace's Defense & Systems business. For these new variants and potential new customers, the parties are exploring TEI, a joint venture company between GE Aerospace and Turkish Aerospace established in 1985, to perform the assembly, inspection, and testing of the F404 engines in Türkiye. TEI would also provide assembly, maintenance, repair, and overhaul for the engine for Turkish Aerospace HÜRJET aircraft and export customers. The subject agreement will also serve the purpose of enabling TEI to potentially provide services for global F404 end-users for platforms other than HÜRJET.
