The 3D printed turbine blades that TEI talked about. According to the CEO, the thinks only GE and TEI have thus far printed turbines blades:
The CEO really need to update his knowlege (if he acctually said so).

GE is probably the only one to put 3D printed low pressure turbine in producing new engines (GE9X). But using 3D printing to repair damaged trubine blade of current engines has been done for quite some time by many. I know Siemens does so, as well as China reparing AL-31 and WS-10. It isn't something extrodinary today. TEI is among many others developping engines to use 3D printed blade.

Just one example, this Chinese company is developping 3D printed turbine blade for engines for either C919 or C929.

Some engine and metallurgy info

CEO of TRMotor Osman Saim Dinç:

"We aim to install KAAN's domestic engine in 2029. We are working with all our strength. Today, there are over 650 design engineers, some in Ukraine, some in Eskişehir, some in TR Motor Ankara."

About CMSX10: "We also poured the new generation of the material we made, this cmx 10 is its new generation and we made it so well by our young engineers. They did it so well that this cmx 10 is the 3rd generation Single Crystal wing material. We made the alloy, we casted it, We made a test sample and we tested it, it was 30% better than the imported one."

Also TEI got in the pure nickel and pure cobalt casting business. Cobalt is supplied from mines in Turkiye:

What I read is with additive manufacturing, you can get better cooling channels with fewer structural compromises. The material itself might be weaker than the forged one but the blade is stronger because there are no cooling channels in suboptimal locations. In a working engine, the effect is even greater because cooling is better too. So there are significant weight savings from 3D printing of low-pressure turbine blades.

300th ATGM (OMTAS and Kornet-E) tank destroyer delivered to the Turkish army. 44 to go:

LUMTAS-GM test firing at 16km:

Karaok ATGM test firings:

P.S. The Tank Destroyer using the Yalman turret called KMC are not part of the 344 TD contract. They'll be added later. Like I previously stated, the Turkish military is going to have 210 older TD's plus 344 newer ones for a total of 554 TD's with more coming in the form of the KMC sporting (L)UMTAS-GM.

The Altay being delayed is not a problem anymore. It's being compensated by these TD's, attack helicopters and (soon) modernized MBT's (Leo2T and M60T).

It left its Japanese rival behind and took its place in GÖKBEY: Alp Havacilik, which designed and produced the accessory gearbox, which is a very important subsystem of the national TEI TS1400 turboshaft engine that will power the GÖKBEY helicopter, surpassed the equivalent product of Japanese origin with its product.

This accessory gearbox, which operates the accessories that enable the engine and some equipment to do their job, and allows the part that gives the helicopter the first movement to work, fulfilled its duty in the GÖKBEY helicopter, which made its first flight with a domestic engine.

These gearboxes will be used in GÖKBEY with the transition to domestic engines with the 35th helicopter in the second half of 2025.

At the end of this first major design project of Alp Aviation, it received an order for 30 sets of gearboxes
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The lifespan of weapon systems will be extended: Alp Havacilik developed products called "bearing or ring gear" for ASELSAN, based on its design ability. It is among the critical components that enable rotation in tower systems, land vehicles, and remote-controlled weapon systems.

With the patented solution containing aluminum-steel bonding used in helicopters and derived from aviation, the function of the bearing gear is increased and its lifespan is extended.

First deliveries will be made at the end of the year, mass production is targeted next year.

The product, which was developed for land platforms and is currently limited to 1.2 meters in diameter, is intended to be used on a larger scale in the future, on large platforms such as the Fırtına howitzer or on naval platforms.

According to haberturk, Kaan FF delayed for a few months:

KAAN will not arrive on December 27, but it will be in the skies next year. Our country's national pride, our National Combat Aircraft Kaan, developed by TAI, successfully completed its first ground test over the weekend.

Kaan, which TAI General Manager Temel Kotil announced will rise to the sky on December 27, will most likely not make it to this date, but we will see our national fighter jet Kaan in the sky in February next year or March at the latest.

  • KAAN AESA radar will have 2000+ GaN TRM
  • 2nd KAAN prototype will have radar
  • Production of two more test aircraft has started, one of which is scheduled to be ready in mid-2024.
  • First KAAN prototype won't have stealth coating
  • Flight computer and a fully functional landing gear has now been integrated into the first KAAN's airframe.

I haven't read the whole article yet but it seems Flug Revue visited TAI and interviewed the CEO.
