ASELSAN will take down the enemy with GÜRZ

ASELSAN's innovative air and missile defense system, which offers multiple interceptors against very low and low altitude air threats, will be exhibited for the first time at IDEF 2023.

ASELSAN has developed the innovative air and missile defense system GÜRZ, which offers multiple interceptors against very low and low altitude air threats.

ASELSAN will share its capabilities in communications, air defense, avionics, electro-optics, electronic warfare, radar and unmanned systems with local and foreign visitors at the 16th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2023) to be held in Istanbul on July 25-28.

ASELSAN, which carries out a series of projects under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries in order to provide Turkey's layered air defense with domestic and national resources, has added a new one to its solutions.

The GÜRZ Air and Missile Defense System will be exhibited at IDEF 2023 as ASELSAN's innovative air and missile defense system that offers multiple interceptor (cannon and missile) use against very low and low altitude air threats.

GÜRZ is located on an armored 8x8 rubber-wheeled platform and stands out with its superior technological features. The system will work against UAVs, helicopters, warplanes, cruise missiles and air-to-ground ammunition.

With the changing war conditions, the need for air and missile defense systems with high mobility increased. The GÜRZ Air and Missile Defense System will protect both fixed facilities and convoys in transit against air threats. Thanks to the system's superior target detection, diagnosis and tracking capabilities, its preventive set, advanced threat assessment and weapon allocation solutions, it offers high destruction power against threats in a cost-effective architecture.

GÜRZ Air and Missile Defense System; It consists of components such as 35 millimeter Air Defense Gun (Particle Ammunition Family ATOM, HEI, TP), 4 Very Low Altitude Air Defense Missiles, 4 Low Altitude Air Defense Missiles, 4 Active Phased Array (AESA) Search Radar, fire control radar, electro-optical sensors and data link.

Roketsan BURÇ ADS:


Roketsan unveils Burc Air defence System at IDEF. Burc combines Sungur air defence missile with 20 mm cannon. The system will be used for the protection of convoys against UAV and suicide attacks.

Looks like it uses Meteksans new AESA radar:



And its cannon looks like the TR Mekatronik 3 barreled 20mm cannon.

That EO turret from FLIR needs to be replaced with Aselsan solution though, like ASELFLIR-400.

UMATS-GM Block 1:

In 2025, Block 2 trials will start

ROKETSAN's Mini Intelligent Munition (MAM) product family is now heading towards its target with the Infrared Imaging Seeker (IIR) head. MAM-L IIR and MAM-T IIR will be exhibited for the first time at IDEF'23. Roketsan continues to develop its MAM product family with new features, which has proven its success and effectiveness in the field to the whole world with its Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UCAV).

It is known that Turkey has exported S/UAVs to approximately 40 different countries, especially with TUSAŞ and BAYKAR companies, and ROKETSAN also exports various amounts of MAM missiles to the same countries in addition to these exports. Given this situation, the export door for the enhanced MAM family is extremely open.

MAM-L and MAM-T will now offer a low-cost solution for critical targets, thanks to their increased range with IIR head and RF data link that can operate in accordance with the operational UCAV concept.

MAM-L and MAM-T, which have the "man-in-the-loop" operating principle with the integrated 2-way RF Datalink, can be managed by the operator through the ammunition seeker image throughout the flight. Both products have new features such as locking before/after firing, updating targets in the air during flight, selecting ammunition trajectory according to target/environmental conditions, cloud, rain etc. It will have superior capabilities than its competitors, such as being able to be used actively despite all environmental conditions.

System that hits air targets with drone!

The MM-GIDS Intelligent Defense System, developed by Gürbağ Defense, is exhibited for the first time at IDEF'23 Fair. Having radar and electro-optical payloads for the detection of air targets, MM-GIDS has a 20mm cannon, 8km range air defense missile and circulating ammunition for target destruction. Air targets can be hit with circulating ammunition fired through the hydrogen launch system. This ability has been verified in the field.

HY-100 steel:
