Russia's Kamov Company Deputy Chief Engineer Vinyamin Alekseyecic, the producer of the Israeli-Russian co-production Ka-50-2 helicopters competing in Turkey's attack helicopter tender, emphasized that the helicopters were named "Erdogan" in 1996 and that it has nothing to do with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to Alekseyevich's statements, after it became clear that Kamov company would participate in the helicopter tender opened by the Turkish Ministry of Defense in 1996, it was decided to give these helicopters a name of Turkish origin. The Russian side, who wanted this name to be related to the sky and birds, asked for advice from the Turkish side.
Explaining the difference between Ka 50-2 helicopters and Ka 50 and Ka 52 helicopters, Vinyamin Alekseyevich said, "Ka-50 helicopters are single-pilot helicopters. The Ka 52 helicopter is led by two pilots sitting side by side. Considering the wishes of the Turkish side, we placed the pilots' cabins one after the other, not side by side. We named it the Ka 50-2 as a model," he said.

Head of TEI:

"We haven't started the ATAK-2 (T929) engine yet. Because our helicopter team is working on the TEI-TS1400 at full throttle. The ATAK-2 engine is now a secondary priority."

"TRMotor project manager at MMU engine, we give him engineering support. It takes 8-10 years to develop such an engine, 5 years are required from us. Developing such an engine costs 7-10 billion dollars, we will do it for 3-5 billion dollars.”

The Anka-III development started in January 2022!

“We will be ready to fly in a week” Stating that the ANKA-III project started operating in a very short period of time, Yıldız said, “Last year, in January 2022, the decision of the board of directors was made. If we can fly our plane within a week, this plane will come to life in 16 months.
The reason why we do this so fast is because we make good use of the legacy of the past. It took a long time for ANKA UAV to enter the inventory, but on the legacy of ANKA, we built Aksungur in 18 months. I hope this plane will have flown in 16[months].
We are currently doing the taxi tests, we have a few problems; We have identified the problem, we are solving it. We couldn't work today because of the ceremony. We will have finished them tomorrow. If there is no problem, we will be ready for flight in a week."
