From the side it looks a bit like good old H-34.
Hah no, I just visited Teknofest today and it is basically a shitshow of dead on arrival ideas from every spectrum and category. There also seemed to be a shitton of universities showcasing amateur rockets (probably because the Turkish government has signalled that they are looking to build up their millitary industry). I even found one of the university students' projects about those "bladeless engines" (ion propulsion engine) straight up copying 's design wholesale with no mention or credit of him (The design was literally 1:1 identical, down to the spacing, number of wires, and the curves of the intakes) Basically all those stands showcase old failed ideas and designs that have been around for ages like "generating oxygen from algae to replace trees"The Turkish elections sure are heating things up.
And Baykar's reaction to this:
"The idea of giving Atatürk Airport, which hosts TEKNOFEST, where more than a million young people compete and the world's best National Technology Projects are exhibited, to a US company...
To think that US companies, not Turks, can still do the “best”…
The mentality that buried Nuri Demirağ's planes has never changed."
Also the opposition wants to scrutinize the defense industry. WRT the TF-X, they want the project to follow a more 'realistic' timeline, which to me is an euphemism that they are going to cut the budget and/or delay the program a lot perhaps to the degree that they'll be forced to make heavy concessions to be readmitted into the F-35 program. TUSAS/TAI majority shares is owned by the state, so they can throw in some serious wrenches in the gears if they want to.
For your comments about Kızılelma, it is not an IRST or EOTS atm lol, and that "long tube" is for testing purposes. Other than that it still has circular GNSS antenna etc because this a prototypeHah no, I just visited Teknofest today and it is basically a shitshow of dead on arrival ideas from every spectrum and category. The most interesting there was the brief flight of the Kizilelma drone where they were blasting through the speakers some obnoxious variation of "look how great turkey is with the Bayraktar Kizilelma!" "go Kizilelma go!" etc during the entire flight at such a high volume you literally cannot hear the drone passing overhead.
I should have taken some pictures of the model on the ground for ya'll to see but I forgot lmao.
I noticed on the ground model the IRST isn't a real one, the area where the two front transparent "glass" panels should be is occupied by a pair of some kind of camera instead.
For a stealth drone, it has some aspects that are not "stealthy" like the long instrumentation tube on the nose and circular shape of the aforementioned camera.
Well, it look better in flight. Still boxy, we will see the final product soon enough i hope !
