New R&D projects have started at the 8th R&D panel meeting of SSB:
Göçmen Program Wide Area Call: It is aimed to create innovative navigation concepts and solutions for environments where global positioning systems (GPS) do not work or are blocked and to identify the best solutions within the framework of the criteria to be determined.
With the Acquisition of Underwater Synthetic Aperture Imaging Capability
(SAS) Project: it is aimed to acquire the synthetic aperture underwater imaging capability domestically so that it can serve applications in various marine platforms, especially unmanned submarine vehicles. In this context, it is aimed to develop signal processing algorithms for wideband acoustic sensors and high resolution imaging.
With the Project for the Development of
Laser Metal Powder Melting Process for Ceramic Doped Metal Matrix Composite Materials: In gas turbine aviation engine parts; It is aimed to prepare metal matrix composite powders with different compositions suitable for additive manufacturing technology in order to improve wear resistance, high temperature resistance and mechanical strength properties and to develop the additive manufacturing process in which these powders will be used.
With the Project for the Development of
High Temperature Eutectic Oxide Ceramic Matrix Composites: The development of eutectic oxide ceramic matrix composite materials that can be an alternative to nickel-based super alloys in the production of high temperature turbine parts in gas turbine aviation engines, experimental design for different compositions and additives, semi-finished ingots (ingot) production and characterization.
With the Development of
Graphene-Based Flexible Electrode Materials Project: It is aimed to develop graphene-based, flexible, wearable and sensitive sensor materials for the production of cutaneous electrode materials for the monitoring of body signals of military personnel. By using the sensing electrodes to be developed in electrocardiography, electromyography and electroencephalography applications; It is aimed to collect physiological signals originating from the pulse, muscles and brain by non-invasive methods.
With the
Low Phase Noise Oscillator Development Projects: It is aimed to develop low phase noise oscillators modeled with the help of dielectric resonators and crystal resonators used in Radar Systems.
With the
YIG Filter Development Project: It is aimed to domestically develop an adjustable broadband filter used in Electronic Warfare Systems, Radar Warning and ELINT receivers.
With the
High Power Electromagnetic (YGEM) Threat Resistant Frontline Limiter Development Project: It is aimed to develop an RF MEMS-based limiter that can prevent high-power electromagnetic weapons from causing temporary or permanent damage to communication, radar and electronic warfare systems.
X Band RF Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (TETİK) Domestic Production Process Development Project and SiGe Library Project: It aim to develop an integrated circuit (ASIC) for use in various munitions by using the Process Design Kit (PTK) and library.
With the
Ku-Band Multifunctional RF Chip (RF CoreChip) Domestic Production Process Development Project: it is aimed to develop a beamformer multifunctional chip for use in new generation AESA radars using SiGe BiCMOS technology.
"Stating that 20 years ago, R&D expenditures in the defense industry did not even reach
50 million dollars a year, today it exceeds
1,25 billion dollars a year, Demir said, “We will continue on our way without compromising our work on R&D and technology in the target of a fully independent defense industry.”

The Turks wants to venture into CMC for gasturbines. A very good and necessary development indeed. The first indications of this can be found here:
.
Research on CMC started over a year ago.
