There were a lot of rumors in Turkish defense circles about India negotiating with the USA to block the sale. This incident pretty much confirms it.
That means there is a good chance that they’ll allow F-110 to be used on TF-X.

@BoraTas Sir, a question if there is an early sign of success regarding the local engine development and the West unblock its embargo, will Turkey took the bait? Its been their policy to destroy a strategic competitor especially in core technology that the West dominate. I ask these cause with Turkey determination they are trying to loosen the restriction and with the cost and time associated for the engine to mature, they may not have the temerity to wait. There were a lot of rumors in Turkish defense circles about India negotiating with the USA to block the sale. Perhaps. The US were delaying both the Pakistani and Philippines helicopter deal. It could be that the US sees Philippines as a more urgent matter because of its tensions with China and thus allowed the export for the engines.
@sequ So the US actually has problems with Pakistan, not Turkey?
The engines were being blocked only for exports. There were no restrictions for Turkish use. The incoming T-625 and T-629 are planned with domestic TS-1400 engines from the start. The incoming T-925 and T-929 are planned with a 3000 hp Ukrainian engine. So the Western restrictions were never a consideration for these 4 helicopters.@BoraTas Sir, a question if there is an early sign of success regarding the local engine development and the West unblock its embargo, will Turkey took the bait? I don't see how Atak would give the Philippines an edge against China. It was never designed for maritime use and has negligible anti-ship capability against everything except small FACs.Perhaps. Where did I state it has anti-ship capability or it is going to be used in a maritime environment or it is going to give an edge against China? The engines were being blocked only for exports.
