He is not weakening the government. Not at all. You are not thinking cynically enough. You need to develop some cynicism to see through these actions. He is strengthening the President's power. Check the Unitary Executive Theory. He wants power for himself as a president. His inspiration is Orban from his own words. Make of it what you will.
Nope, you are not reading this deep enough. Trump of course wants to strengthen the power of the executive office, but the actual effect of his actions is the weakening of the executive. it is simple, if you reduce manpower, and you reduce funding, it is going to reduce the effectiveness of the government. the thinking is that by cutting manpower Musk will somehow increase government efficiency, unfortunately cutting staff very rarely does anything of that sort. The end result of what trump is doing through doge will be the weakening of the federal government.

It doesn't weaken the executive. It does help him go against his perceived enemies. I think he will now move against Congress.

Sure you can, money printer go brrrr. Iine goes up, global inflation goes up, everybody wins.
Inflation goes brrr and Americans consume even less

Trump has his reasons for cutting the budget. A weaker military is better than a weaker civilian economy, the former can be built up again while the latter leads to a weaker military in the long run as well.

How can a nation function without taxes.
The one thing they have exposed is that people don't know how things work.
