So should China's retaliatory tariffs just aim at the red states without differentiating industries, just like what Canada is doing? Last time, the farming industry was the main target by China but the farmers were largely saved by Trump's subsidies. He very likely will do the same again. China is also not buying as much soybeans, corns, etc. from American farmers as before.

Why do you think it matters if you target red states versus blue states? The real masters pulling the strings want China dead, simple as that. Unless they are hurting it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
