Speaking of which, that's all the more reasons for China to vastly expand her oceangoing navy. All those deep sea mining sites spread across the "true blue" Pacific and Indian Oceans certainly require protection.

This is a complete disaster for the U.S. Their credibility is shot, they haven't weakened China meaningfully, they've rattled their financial (and bond!) markets... And now Trump is stuck in a ~90 days negotiation with partners he has repeatedly threatened and insulted... And, given the vast exemptions announced today for China, there's clearly no chance that the Trump admin will even try to create a trade bloc to isolate China.
