President Trump issues unexpected ultimatum to senior FBI ranks

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., questions FBI director nominee Kash Patel on President Donald Trump's decision to pardon roughly 1,500 criminal defendants charged in the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The Trump administration has told top officials at the FBI to resign or lose their jobs, Fox News has learned.

The exact number has not been disclosed, but the ultimatum was allegedly given to senior employees promoted under former director, Christopher A. Wray.

President Donald Trump’s administration took these steps as his nominee to lead the bureau, Kash Patel, said he would not begin his tenure with retribution or focus on past transgressions.

"I have no interest, no desire and will not, if confirmed, go backwards. There will be no politicization at the FBI. There will be no retributive actions taken," Patel said at the Senate Judiciary Committee.

According to reporting from The New York Times, an email to colleagues from one of the senior agents outlined that he had learned he would be dismissed "from the rolls of the F.B.I." as soon as Monday morning.

"I was given no rationale for this decision, which, as you might imagine, has come as a shock," he wrote.

During the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Patel said he is unaware of any plans of retribution by the Trump administration.

"Are you aware of any plans or discussions to punish in any way, including termination, FBI agents or personnel associated with Trump investigations?" asked Democratic Sen. Cory Booker.

"I am not aware of that, senator," Patel replied.

Although Patel has been nominated, a director has not been officially confirmed to take charge, so the news of the ultimatum was alarming for those involved.

Until the vote comes to a close, Brian Driscoll remains the bureau’s acting director.

The FBI declined to comment when reached by Fox News.

he's actually considering it

It's as if Trump single-handedly decided to destroy every last of the US 'strengths' left globally simply overnight, I kid you not. At this point, it's even starting to look like it could be purposeful, like a checklist.

The US previously was at least the global largest buyer of international goods, no matter how the unfair dollar system was, this was the truth nominally.

But, which country/company will now be comfortable making some long-term relations with the US when Trump could simply tariff you overnight for no reason whatsoever, even the US's closest allies?

If the US lasts long enough, I think China will also overtake the US as the global largest importer as well.

When you for example agree on something with China, they stand on that, they offer those larger Global South producers 5 years in advance orders, etc.

Not to mention that you now have on top of this China de-risking their imports from the US and raising standards of living.

China already has the largest middle class in terms the population size. All this will make them import more. So, what the US will have left at this point for influence?

At this point, the only thing that the US has left is hoping and praying that threats could work, since they offer literally 0 benefits.

For example, agree to that and that, or we will go to give you an interference campaign, coup, disorder, military attack, take you off SWIFT, VISA, other sanctions, etc.

The problem is that this works only in the short term and when you have some power to back you up, not when you are a deteriorating clown that no one fears anymore since you can't even take down Houthis.
