You don't see that too often, two different class vessels with the same pennant number, in this case CG-65 and DDG-65. Great catch there. And two very potent vessels as well., side by side there in Pearl.

Can you imagine what a difference having either one of those moored there would have made on Dec 7, 1941. Sort of like one of those alternate history books where modern forces somehow get transported back in time.

It would have been game over given their sensors missiles, and guns. Even a CIWS, the 5" guns and they embarked 25mm auto guns would have been able to bring down a lot of the aircraft...but the missiles would have all been used up for either ship fairly quickly. Would have wholly decimated the 1st wave though...and they may have called back the second on hearing what was happening.
