After 22 total strikes from various ordinance, the USS Rentz, her back broken and split in two, she sinks:

Remember, this vessel had been emptied of fuel, ordinance, and anything that might have caused secondary explosions. She was also in a watertight Zebra condition.

Still, those OHP frigates proved to be tough old salts.

So true Jeff. Also all hazardous material, including any asbestos, must be removed prior to a SINKEX. Great photos.

I did this a many time aboard the ships I served aboard...Many times. I loved the symphony of the UNREP(RAS)..it never gets old..aaarrrvvv!

So for environmental reasons i understand in fact the weapons tests are not realistic obviously ammos, fuel etc... are determining for damages no doubt about it, look all naval battles with especialy battleships the more protected...

...and I might add...at any time, but particularly in those seas, what they are doing is a dangerous job.
