I have never seen the Chinese perform this training/drill on the Liaoning or the Russians on the Kuznetsov for that matter.

Do they even have the barricade?

If you are going to trap aircraft...you darn well better have it.

You'd better believe it.

Jeff as I've mentioned many times I'm still waiting to see the crew of CV-16 to perform a "rig the barricade drill"..well shall see eventually..:( some day..I hope.

Sorry Kwi but the Marines don't use Strykers that's a LAV25 likely the LAV25A2
The LAV25 and the Stryker come form the same family but are not the same platform.
The LAV 25 has a 25mm Bushmaster cannon the Army never placed a IFV turret on the Stryker a Tank gun but not a proper IFV gun.

This is going back a ways...but a riveting video just the same.

It's a C-2, that had VIP aboard as I understand it. Get's interesting a about 1:20 into the video.

Watch the guys get to the wheel, and I believe tie it down, while the prop is still turning, and the foam is spraying over them. Gutsy, dedicated sailors.

Thanks for keeping me honest.. yes LAV 25 is the Marine version of the MOWAG Piranhna family chassis and has been in service much much earlier than the Army Strykers.

Man...that's a LOT of people on their small craft at sea.

They must have been very desperate to cram that many people in...risking death to all, including the women and children.

Thank God the US Navy was there to help as the one vessel sank, and as I am sure they began to run short on food and water.

282 people eat and drink a LOT. The Ocean is one of the worst deserts on earth when it comes to food and water, unless you are well prepared to fish and to either carry a lot of water, or be able to make fresh water.
