GROTON, Conn. (May 21, 2009) Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Chris Yaras holds his four-week old daughter for the first time as his wife looks on. Yaras is returning home aboard the Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Hartford (SSN 768) and was on a scheduled deployment when his daughter was born. Hartford sustained major damage to her sail in a March 20 collision with the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18) in the Strait of Hormuz and had to transit on surface from Baharin to Groton.
