The War in the Ukraine

Photos emerging on telegram of the results of the USV attack on Admiral Makarov and civilian vessels in Sevastapol. The frigate itself seems to be moored in port looking quite healthy. Definitely doesn't look anything like other ships looked after suicide attack or being hit with any large explosive device like a missile. No list, no burn or scorch marks. However the side that may or may not have been hit could be the one facing its cousins moored next to it.

I have a feeling this thing would have joined Moskva if that little boat did hit it

On the other hand, i would not be surprised if the original first person video from the suicide boat was inverted before releasing it, since ukrainian propaganda ministry would have known how the ship is parked before hand, just to raise some doubt in our minds.

I watched the first person view and that thing was meters away from the hull before the video conveniently cuts off. Unless it was some very elaborate CGI baloney, I'd love to know what really happend.

As a side note, if it was damaged, I would assume it wouldn't be moored in port but in a dock somewhere undergoing repairs

Just noticed this video was posted to reddit with the claim of it being a Russian helicopter

In my experience, lately there has been an uptick in repostings of videos claiming that it is Russians being destroyed. I noticed at least two that in the original version had included M113s being knocked out, but had now been cut down to avoid showing those.

I heard the Makarov's radar --- I assume it is the search radar --- that was damaged, and there was a Russian video of the ship's CIWS opening up on a lot of stuff. I am assuming that shrapnel from hits may have damaged the radar, which I also assume to be the Fregat on top of the mast.

I wonder if the barricade nettings were put in place to proctect the ships at berth? If the drone boat managed to reach the nettings, the explosion may have sent shrapnel upward and hit the radar. Barricade nettings, if any, may have saved the Russian ships from direct contact with the Ukrainian drone boat.

Further pondering, if fishing trawlers with floating fishing nets/barriacde spread out, were to be placed strategically at the harbour, it could have prevent underwater as well as small drone boats attacks.

I would have thought that warships are safest being sailing at sea?
Those drone boats were made to be low observable including in the IR spectrum so I sorta can't really give the Russian navy that much of a hard time. It really is very difficult to hit a fast moving small boat.

Just imagine trying to take out a boat that you have no idea is getting near you and has a lower profile than these practice target boats.

US, Chinese and all the big navies are likely saying oh crap this is just another headache to worry about.
