I don't think Russia has used any glass-nosed Mi-8 anywhere near the front in a while. Also the pictures of the wreck do show some Ukranian colors




Also considering how dry everything is now, the grass around the wreck of that Mi-24 looks surprising clean and tall for a recent crash.

EDIT: Looking at the Mi-24 wreck closely, it is a Mi-24P, as far as I am aware, Russia hasn't really used that many of those in the war if at all. Also, that shade of blue under the wings look a lot like Ukraine's

This is another one. This one really looks like a Ukrainian, but he was shot down in Konstantinovka.

The Mi-8 kill you sent was posted by pro-Ukrainian sources and on top of that, it's even been geolocated:

It makes sense the one in the video is Ukranian as we haven't seen that many glass-nosed Mi-8's being used by Russia. They all mostly use the dolphin-nosed variant.

Just noticed that they published the entire video. The helicopter from the pictures is the one from the video.

Clearly hard to tell on most video anyway... misidentification is running wild in this war with common equipments. But it's a nice footage of how fragile air assets are. Even attack helicopters are glass dragon.

Don't know how many of these are soviet era types equipments and need to be rebuild from scratch with new systems altogether. A couple of drone later and repair equipment and material will be blown off in no time. Only option is truck or train based generators for key services.

Russia also rotated generals in Syria all the time. The whole point is to make them get more command experience and sort out which are the best ones. Lapin for whatever reason was getting a lot of flak. So he was moved to another position. I personally think given the resources he had in Kharkov there was little he could have done. The Russian government should have issued the stop loss order sooner.

You are insisting on error.

Rybar claims that Russian Mi-8s are rarely unescorted, which is quite true, but we have seen some kills from unescorted helicopters. As for the identification, I won't delve into it because the video doesn't have a quality image, what I can say is how much is true that this video is really of a Russian Mi-8.

Rybar claims that Daniil Bezsonov posted the video first, shortly afterwards he claims there were footage from the Ukrainian side posted, this is wrong as the Bezsonov video was not the first to upload the video.

10:04 AM, which is about 50 minutes earlier, considering the time zone. I mean, Rybar is dead wrong as to who posted it first, I didn't even have time to check Telegram, but I'm sure I'll find posts before any pro-Russian source.

Regarding Bezsonov himself, he edited the publication, see what he said when he edited:

Therefore, the helicopter in the video is not the one in the photos.

Rybar is an excellent source, but on this point he is wrong, just as he was wrong to claim that the Mi-8 destroyed on Snake Island was Russian, he is wrong in this situation to claim that it was a Ukrainian Mi-8.

The resting position of the helicopter once it crashes matches the one of the pictures. It hits the ground and rolls over its left side.

@Sinnavuuty was right and indeed was a Russian helicopter of Wagner that got shot down.
