For comparisons sake. Russia lost 3 tanks in it's war with Georgia in 2008 and around 20 AFV's

Expected. Ukraine has a much bigger population than Georgia. 30 million compared to 3 million.

Extrapolated to 30 tanks and 200 AFV's if we are comparing Per Capita

It is also related to the nature of the conflict. In Georgia the soldiers did not fight to the death and the government ordered a withdraw from South Ossetia and Abkhazia and ended the war. In Ukraine Zelensky will never negotiate and will fight to the last man, woman, or child. The nature of the war in Ukraine is very different from the nature of the war in Georgia. So of course the losses on both sides in Ukraine is much higher than in Georgia.

The Ukrainian military was the strongest military force in Europe after the Russian military. No comparison with the Georgian armed forces.

The West refused to supply military hardware to Georgia via the Black Sea.

I usually don't post here but whatever idiot planned to send Ukrainians troops to an obvious trap should be send to jail for negligence.
