The theory I have heard being floated is that there were at least two parties/teams involved, the HIMARs driver, and a second recovery team.
The driver will ‘accidentally’ drive the HIMARS into a ditch or similar rough terrain and get it immobilised. As the crew evacuates, probably with encouragement from ‘Russian drones’ sightings overhead (which the recovery team could fly themselves for maximum authenticity and likelihood of success), the recovery team moves in with a recovery vehicle to tow the HIMARS out of the ditch and drive it away before the original crew returns to try to recover it themselves.
Then it’s just a matter of negotiating with the Russians on which barn to park it to get paid.
Hmmm. What about the Himars reload vehicle, was that taken as well?

Yeah, would be funny if Russian psyops about such sales got the Ukrainians so keyed up their commissars inadvertently immobilised their HIMARS by executing drivers for attempted sabotage every time they hit a pot hole and everyone else in the unit all suddenly remembered they cannot drive.
Despite being sanctioned to oak tree, Russia is still showing generosity by distributing free and permanent residentship to hell, To all the rental call of duty warriors who couldn't get their's in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria or Libya.
Temporary location point of the "Right Sector" in the Zaporozhye region was hit, up to 200 militants were eliminated.
How much of this is true only time will tell :
