If I may speculate here, I suspect the hearing damage from firearms and artillery is enough to make the soldiers on the ground not hear the drones. Small drones are not quiet, but when you can hear when exposed to explosions and gunfire for so long...
Any engine running nearby can make them inaudible if they are 300 ft high... not a lot of noises audible at these distance anyway for small electric drone if they are just hovering. They would need some cheap radar designed to pinpoint them for infantry....some system exist anyway.

Day 109...almost 110. over 15 weeks into the war.

Seems my caution appears to have born out so far. Russians have made a little progress in the Donbas. Ukraine has made a little progress in the Kherson region. Kharkov has some movements, but generally seems neutral.

The Ukrainians are not collapsing. The Russians are not sitting in the dirt, crying and refusing to fight.

The Russians have still not (yet?) pulled off a kessel on the Ukrainains in the Donbass.

The Russians blew a bridge from Severodonetsk across the river. That would prevent the Ukrainians from retreating over it, but it also means the Russians didn't think they could capture the bridges and hold it for their own units to cross.

Units lost? Well, the Russians are up to over 37 BTG and over 13 tank battlions worth. Over 60% of the tanks the Russians started with have been lost. Until the front lines really move, I suspect we will just see a dribble of Russians units lost despite the hard fighting. By my count, the Russian casualties have reached nearly 32k, but I absolutely believe this to be low. Why? Because I have no way of counting infantry and if there is one thing artillery is good at fscking up, it's infantry. And this war has been Napoleon's delight as his famous quote is "With artillery, war is made."

As for the Ukrainians, who knows? We get some wild estimations. Zelensky has said 100 soldiers per day, which would put it at almost 44k casualties. Another cabinet member said up to 300 per day, which could mean 132k. I seriously doubt the latter. The Russians are definitely not inflicting 4:1 casualties. If they were, they'd be blowing through the Ukrainians and clearly they are not.

As for people commenting on ammo running low, oh how we forget! NATO and the Warsaw Pact back in the day only had enough ammo to fight for a few months at full intensity. Everyone I knew back in the day - omg, I am getting old - felt after the first few months, if no treaty was signed to end the war, it would become a high tech world war 1. History doesn't exactly repeat, but she sure does rhyme. There was a reason I said July as being a significant turning point one way or another.

And, yes, the T-64s are being used. Any guesses as to how long (if ever) until we see T-55s?

At least one depot and reports of other places around Bryansk seem to have gone up again. Saboteurs or strikes?

People keep harping on the 4 HIMARs. Totally believe these are for training. It makes no sense otherwise to have sent so few. The US has several hundred. As we are seeing with the M109 transfers, it really does take time to train the troops or the equipment will be lost quickly.

Questions!

For Severodonetsk, have the Russians taken the industrial part of the city? I haven't seen anything that looks vaguely definitive.

I saw someone reported the Russians had done an assault on Ochakiv on the southern coast and taken it. I've not seen that reported anywhere else. Has there been a followup report?

After the fall of Mauripol, why have we not seen an significant offensive in the south? The final crushing of Azovstal meant 10+ BTG could be shifted.

All the ultra nitro strategy and super dynamic braverosity went to waste :
British mercenary killed in Severodonetsk During the battles for Severodonetsk, the British mercenary Jordan Gatley was destroyed. He previously served in the British Army. The liquidation of the mercenary was confirmed by the Independent newspaper, citing his father.

Lots of SU-25 downing lately, they got airframes by train ? Maybe they had airframes with needs of engines or parts and put them in use all at the same time ? They got wrecked the same day in two differrents regions...multiple Ukrainian jet getting mauled lately.

Frankly, it is abysmal showing by RuAF that there are still UAF planes flying
