The War in the Ukraine

Creating an artillery killing zone is more logistic intensive than surrounding and sending waves of infantry like in Mariupol and Bakhmut, which is more manpower intensive.

Since Russia has near unlimited equipment and economical support, it makes sense to protect the 1 resource (manpower) that they can't squander, else it end up impacting the war morale at home like the Vietnam draft, I think that's the only way Russia can be forced into a disadvantage.
true, but to penetrate into the enemy rear makes it harder for logistics to even get to you.

Sure they are attempting to preserve resources. But comparing the Ukraine conflict with Vietnam, those two are totally different. Ukraine is not a continent away, it is right on their border. And Ukraine actually invading some Russian territory and doing long range strikes into Russia only makes the case of the Russian government for continuing the conflict more convincing to the citizenry.
It is interesting to draw a parallel with the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. In the USSR's war against Afghanistan, the Afghans carried out

, and even took over an entire city (Serhetabat) in Turkmenistan. They also attacked bridges, all with equipment supplied by the US and the UK, and nothing happened. Perhaps since nothing happened, the West hopes that nothing will happen now either.

There is simply no comparison in the scale or magnitude of either. Tajikistan was very far from the main population cores of the Soviet Union to begin with so this did not affect most people.

Remember Russia's reaction to the apartment bombings in Moscow which bootstrapped the Second Chechen War.

Russian sources claim that at least five ATACMS missiles were launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kursk direction.

There are still talks of the US transferring JASSM to Ukraine with a range of 360 km

Satellite photographs of the Krymsk and Khalino airfields. At both airfields, you can see the construction process of reinforced concrete air shelters. Also in the photographs you can see a large amount of building materials for future concrete structures.

Tunneling some hangar like in soviet times could be interesting.

The West still has not learned anything. Maybe they should try drawing the range of an IRBM around the Russian border and see where they will likely get hit. The US has forces in Syria and Iraq against the wishes of the local governments there which would be fair game.

Or maybe some containers full of Kalibr or Oniks missiles will get to the hands of whichever group does not like the US, be it the Houtis or whoever else.

M198 howitzer and a load of ammunition gets taken out by Russian artillery by Group South of forces.

Successful Russian assault through Ilyinka. Don't know which Ilyinka this is, there are literally two Ilyinka in the Kurakhovo direction, successfully assaulted within days of each other.

FAB literally lit up the Kurakhovsky TPP. My guess the Ukrainians also planted explosives for self destruction to prevent the TPP from falling into Russian hands, and they all lit up when the FAB attacked, leading to the premature destruction of the plant.
