The War in the Ukraine

The Pzh2000 is such a conspicuous system to be using without air cover of any kind, which makes me think they will be sent to a rather "calm" front where they are less likely to be hit either by Russian CAS or counterbattery fire, and just récord videos for Reddit and Twitter.

The day one of those things gets hit and destroyed will cause osintbros and redditors to blow a gasket, though

On that day the PzH-2000 transmutates into Msta-C of the Russian Federation

Didn’t know that the commander of the Ukrainian grouping in Lisichansk/Severdonetsk region is a 34 year old woman who is a political appointee from Kiev. Jesus Christ that is bad. I guess the rumors are true that political decision making is trumping military advise. That explains why Ukrainian special forces/Ukrainian nationalist battalions and foreign legions were sent to Severdonetsk. There is likely tension between the regular army guys who see what’s coming and the political leadership who sent more “loyal” soldiers who won’t retreat.

ISW is now walking back their statement about Severodonetsk Counterattack. I've long known ISW to be biased towards Ukraine and prone to repeat Ukrainian propaganda but it's good to see them admit to it. I'll put it here in case others are not aware.

Basically they just took their word for it without doing any investigation to confirm.
Yes, Alex Mercouris also reported on this. Based on his sources, the troops that supposedly counterattacked and took back a big swarth of Severodonetsk were hole up near the chemical plant the whole time and never advanced beyond that.

Goddamn, how many DJI are being used in this war? Here's your average Russian reconnaissance unit these days:

I like how they got a whole tea set laid out on the table behind them, gives it a real afternoon picnic feel. I wonder what's their setup for charging through all the battery packs for the drones.
Their expression makes one wonder whether they are looking for armed Ukrainians hiding in ambush or at shapely Ukrainians bathing through a window.

There's the smoking gun that China is supplying Russia with weapons!

Seems like the 34 year old politician is leading the task force. The video mentions it at 8:52.

Interesting rumor or claim at 14:00. Ukrainians are supposedly only getting 10 days worth of basic training before being sent to the front and then receiving a 65% casualty rate.

Video analysing and reviewing reports regarding Severodonetsk situation, and also he pointed out that one of the members of Ukrainian parliament named Mariana Bezuhla whom was commanding the Task Force of the foreign volunteers

HistoryLegends with another on point video. Arestovich also said a major attack against Slovyansk is on the way:

In my opinion General Dvornikov is more cunning than that, he's not going to do the thing that everyone expects. Yes he's going to attack Slovyansk, but it will probably be with the goal of drawing forces away from Zolote so that the LPR forces in the east can come in and attack Lysychansk from the flank. Shutting the pocket at Slovyansk is probably too big of a bite for the current situation and he's only going to be committed to attacking the city big time if it turns out to be really easy ala Lyman. We have evidence that reinforcements are being moved to Popasna quietly:

If it goes down like that it would basically be Dvornikov's Greatest Hits Part Deux. He did the same thing a few weeks ago, drawing away Popasna defenders to Izyum with an attack there, allowing the Popasna breakout to happen. Then when forces are rushed back to Popasna he then attacked Lyman and took it in 4 days. He just keeps hitting different side of that salient and force the mobile forces within to spend all their time rushing from one place to another for firefighting.

I doubt he will attack Lysychansk frontally unless their position collapse completely or something. He's going to keep them pinned there unable to move while he works on behind that pocket.
