Interesting part here in fact isn't intercept itself, it's that shot was attempted and (probably) FCS considered it viable.
213km actual shot range(distance covered by missile, not at the moment of launch) in fact means that even forward bases of PSU are deep within R-37M range(deep enough so fighter can't escape even by turning full cold and running away) - and they still can operate.

This has implications for the Taiwan scenario.

One of the most destructive results in using the Krasnopol. An entire Ukrainian convoy headed to Rabotino was taken out by the 50th Guards Self Propelled Artillery Regiment. The column was hiding on the side of the road.

For comparison.

If this is true, there's going to be a world of hurt. The missiles, similar to the Chinese HJ-10 or Israeli Spike, have NLOS capability and can strike from 10 to 25km.

Allegedly this is a strike of the Bulsae-4 against a British AS-90. The distance from the front line is about 10km which matches the range requirement, at the same time, it curves not like a direct flight LOS ATGM, and too slow for an adjusted artillery shell like Krasnopol.

For me personally my theory is that this is more like a Kitolov-2M shot. The Kitolov is guided like a Krasnopol, but there's a version fired from a 120mm mortar and takes its flight from a mortar. Seen from a higher altitude, the flight of a mortar shell does not seem straight nor fast, and it takes a curved loop like trajectory that's not unsimilar to a mortar. The drone here is a lasing type like an Orlan or Granat, yellow target reticle indicative that lasing is being done.

The vehicle has six wheels, but it can be a BTR-80 that's missing a pair. The structure on top of the vehicle can be antidrone grills with EW modules. Incidentally there's a BTR-80 based vehicle that can fire a Kitolov, and that's a Nona-SVK. The range of the gun is said to be up to 12km, which also matches the range.

Next topic.

Leopard 2A4 destroyed by FPV drones and this one appears fitted with Kontakt-1 ERA. Credit goes to the 255th Regiment, which should be in the Center Group.

Lancet strike at an Su-25 in the Dolgintsevo airfield near Krivoy Rog. Yes, we know about the Su-25 decoys. I do lean thus one being real, as it caught fire and fire fighting vehicles rushed to the scene. But most importantly, having an airfield within Lancet range is not very reassuring for F-16 deployment.

The Russian Su-35S fighter jet shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 for the first time with an R-37M missile at a colossal range of 213 km. This was reported by specialized Russian resources. It is worth noting that there are no photos or videos confirming this, in fact, it is impossible to confirm this, since the Ukrainian media do not publish footage of destroyed equipment. As reported, the Russian Su-35S fighter jet used ultra-long-range R-37M missiles, a link to a video about them is in the comments to the video. The MiG-29 was detected due to the fact that the Su-35S fighter jet is equipped with the N035 Irbis radar. The Irbis radar has a maximum peak power of up to 20 kW. Which allows it to detect targets at a range of up to 400 km. The MiG-29 has an RCS of approximately 5 m2, the N035 Irbis radar can detect an air target with an RCS of 3 m2 at a range of up to 400 km.

Leninskoe is the old Soviet name for Pivdene, which fell to the Russians. Much more important strategically is the capture of the terracone near it, which gives the Russians a strong high ground advantage for miles.

Maybe I'm reading to much into things, but it is interesting to see that the concept of pure Interceptors might still have life left in it.

  • Some Ukranian officers claim they have been recruited 30.000 a month since May though the NYT couldn't verify the claim
  • In some areas of the front, the Russians outnumber the Ukranians 7-to-1 acording to Gen. Yurii Sodol
  • Ukraine has released more than 3,500 convicts in exchange for parole at the end of their duty
  • A doctor in Toretsk, one of the hardest hit areas, said they have received +2,000 conscripts and convicts in the last 2 month.
  • Zelensky says there is a shortage of training grounds and also shortage of training equipment due to the delays in the West.

Well, it's still a 45t bus with largest and most powerful fighter radar, throwing huge missiles from twice the normal bvr launch speed and altitude. Plus they can buddy guide.

Interesting to know by how much, but I have a gut feeling that while r-37m on su-35 is the weakest LRAAM of the 3(I. e. against pl-17 and aim-174), when on mig-31, it's probably still the strongest.

Guessing the limitation is due to the Su-35's radar size and performance relative to the Zaslon and lower top speed for a launch?

It has been reported that some Ukrainian units that would receive the mobilized personnel only exist on paper, that is, although their officers and commanders are already assigned to the unit, the filling of the ranks of these units does not exist, only on paper. The information says that this may be an attempt to defraud the process of raising money for these units that exist only on paper, in this way, with the officers and commanders receiving this money for their own benefit.

Another story of corruption in Ukraine.

Same thing happened with Germany and Italy in WW2. Instead of sending fresh troops into depleted units to bulk them up again they kept making all new units, while letting existing ones be attrited away. This resulted in units increasingly unable to operate effectively. All to make their troop numbers look nice on paper in face of the escalating Soviet manpower growth.
