I don't think anyone seriously in the know ever claimed the Abrams was superior to the Leopard 2. The reason for donating them to Ukraine was a simple matter of "Ukraine needs as many tanks as possible ASAP regardless of type". The west simply wasn't able to donate a significant fleet of anything at short notice, hence why they got dribs and drabs of stuff like 13x Challenger 2s, 26x Slovenian M-55s and 35x AMX-10RCs.

Tank range is only like 3 km max. Too short in modern warfare. They are sitting ducks for drones and guided artillery.
It's either 6 or 7 lost in combat, maybe Tam would know. There's probably been some non-combat losses by now too.

I do find it amusing that the brits werent able to cope with Chally losses and forced the Ukranians to pull them out completely after just 1 loss. They even barely show up in propaganda Reels anymore.
Also their reliability was bad as it was, it probably dipped under combat conditions.

The tank was attacked and disabled by FPV drones, then finished off by Krasnopol from the 228th Regiment and topped off by a Lancet from the 24th Brigade for good measure.
FPV drone from Beaver takes out an antenna used to extend the control range of FPV drones.
Precise artillery from the 238th hits a hidden howitzer. Krasnogorovka direction.

In this episode of the battle in Ukraine, it is not clear what hit the tank; it is reported that the strike was caused by a high-precision Krasnopol projectile; according to other sources, ammunition was dropped on the tank from a drone.
