The War in the Ukraine

One tick, if all these Albram are getting shot up, what on earth was their selling point compared to the challengers and leopards sent. What kind of specs did it have? I ask this question in all seriousness, no joke or fun intended here

I don't think anyone seriously in the know ever claimed the Abrams was superior to the Leopard 2. The reason for donating them to Ukraine was a simple matter of "Ukraine needs as many tanks as possible ASAP regardless of type". The west simply wasn't able to donate a significant fleet of anything at short notice, hence why they got dribs and drabs of stuff like 13x Challenger 2s, 26x Slovenian M-55s and 35x AMX-10RCs.

To the last (overseas) Ukrainian.
Ukraine now blocks consular services for males aged 18 to 60.
For Australia specifically, they are Ukrainians with expired passports are going to have a problem

'Outraged': Ukraine cuts off essential services for military-aged men in Australia

  • Ukraine has "temporarily" suspended consular services for male citizens aged 18 to 60 abroad.
  • The move came just one week after Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a new mobilisation law.
  • Some Ukrainians living in Australia are worried their passports may expire before they're able to renew them.

So what tank can survive a top attack from a drone with a shape charged warhead with no air superiority? A lot of these tanks get knocked out by mines then gets finished by drone. Tanks are a force when on the offensive with other armored vehicles and air support this is not the war for tanks... at least not yet.

Tank range is only like 3 km max. Too short in modern warfare. They are sitting ducks for drones and guided artillery.

I do find it amusing that the brits werent able to cope with Chally losses and forced the Ukranians to pull them out completely after just 1 loss. They even barely show up in propaganda Reels anymore.

Also their reliability was bad as it was, it probably dipped under combat conditions.

Seems the average Finn is not looking forward to fighting NATO's wars

Footage of a damaged American-made Ukrainian M1A1 Abrams tank in the Avdiivka direction. The tank belonged to the 47th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Army; the crew of the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle came to its aid; it will be shown at the end of the video. In this episode of the battle in Ukraine, it is not clear what hit the tank; it is reported that the strike was caused by a high-precision Krasnopol projectile; according to other sources, ammunition was dropped on the tank from a drone. It is unknown how the tank ended up in the ditch; perhaps it was a mistake by the tank’s driver. Now there is still no footage of the tank being hit in motion. The video shows a tank standing in a ditch, it was reportedly struck by an anti-tank missile system, a Lancet drone, and an artillery strike is also visible nearby. After the tank was destroyed, the crew abandoned it. The M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle came to the aid of the tank, but it was hit by an anti-tank missile system, possibly by a drone; the fate of the crew is unknown.
