First official confirmation by the Ukranian General Staff of the use in combat of the Norwegian M109A3GN 155 mm SPG by the Ukrainian Army .

Incredible, Russia is literally fighting against whole Western arsenal. The aim is to deplete Russia. I pretty sure we will see Western tanks soon, too :D

By the by, I am pretty sure these are just press photos.

The whole western arsenal? Let me know when those Typhoons, F-35 and Strike Eagles start hitting Russian targets ;)

If the Russians are really throwing all their reserves into urban fighting in Sievierodonetsk in a desperate attempt to capture the city at all costs, they are even dumber than I thought. Experience has shown they aren't good at urban warfare. Besides Kherson, they haven't been able to take any major city that they haven't previously surrounded (Mariupol) and that took forever. The slow and steady grind in Donbass was working for them very well, why suddenly switch back to the failed March/April strategy of Leroy Jenkins into the middle of big cities?

The better strategy for them is to try and cut off the Ukrainians in Sievierodonetsk and Lischank by taking Bakhmut, and then slowly wearing them out after they are surrounded.

Ukrainians likes to talk big all the time... we will see what's happening from the Chechens soon most probably. For now we have confirmation of nothing beside than urban warfare is not pretty.

Serhiy Gaidai, the Ukrainian governor of Luhansk province: "Right now, our soldiers have pushed them back, (the Russians) are suffering huge casualties," Gaidai said in a live TV broadcast. "The Russian army, as we understand, is throwing all its efforts, all its reserves in that direction."

The rumor is that there wasn’t any counterattack in Severdonetsk. Basically the Ukrainian got the order from Lisichansk to reinforce the Ukrainian army grouping in the industrial zone. And that there is some foreign legions that has arrived to reinforce the industrial zone grouping. There maybe plans for a counter attack but there isn’t visual evidence of what Kiev is claiming. On the flip side the same for the Russian side. However we will see visual proof tomorrow.

Russia has about 80 BTGs in reserve right now. US defense intelligence has reported about this since Phase 2 started. They are sitting around waiting for the order to attack. What’s being used for the ground fighting right now is a combo of spec ops, Chechen volunteers, Wagner group volunteers, DPR/LPR fighters. It appeared Russian soldiers are just providing artillery support and some armored support. And Russia is slowly building up forces in Kherson.

I'm pretty sceptical about the 80 BTGs that were still in reserve since the withdrawal from northern Ukraine back in March, most of the claims of those BTGs were came from pro-Russian OSINTers with the claim based on US reports, regarding the ground fighting part, Both Chechens, LDNR and Wagner group only factor in a minority based loosely on their number of servicemen, i think the Russians still committed a huge part in the ground fighting, not solely rely on Artillery and Armor in supporting role

Probably just an euphimism to strengthen morale and also it's from Reuters which has its own agenda, take it with a grain of salt
