Putin knows that Zelensky uses the peace negotiations for an operational pause in the war, now Zelensky will no longer have that and Russian statements confirm this, they will continue the offensive even with the negotiations open.

Zelensky himself has already admitted that he could eventually agree to change some initial demands such as the return to the 1991 border, enabling negotiations around this, before when it was evident that he himself stated that he would not negotiate unless Russia left Ukraine and compensate for the damage caused.

Zelensky's fate could be any one of three:
Or the Ukrainians kill him.
Or the allies kill him.
Or the Russians kill him.
