There have never been so few Russian planes on strike missions over or around Ukraine and for 5 days now no Russian ship has dared to leave its base. Recent aerial interceptions and the actions of naval drones are forcing Russia to rethink its strategy in the air and at sea.

Why the thermal vision and protective equipment used by the Russians are better?

A concentration of M901 launchers and AN/MPQ-53A radar of the Patriot PAC-1/2 SAM system was successfully hit by an operational-tactical quasi-ballistic missile 9M723-1 of the Iskander-M complex near Krasnoarmeisk. The Russians have neutralized so many radars and launchers in recent weeks that a Ukrainian informant, who identifies himself as an "insider", stated on his channel that, according to GenStab sources, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost three mobile air defense groups in the last two weeks, who were involved in intercepting Russian aircraft. GenStab is currently investigating how Russia was able to identify the routes and accurately target three of the five mobile air defense groups, which included three Patriot launchers and a multi-purpose radar.

It's S-300 according to the Russian military.

They have obviously been wrong before, but that seems like a big thing to miss.

The initial claim was actually the S300 but after checking the images they concluded it was the Patriot.

Somehow a Russian drone was able to spot a static "s300, but now patriot launcher," long enough to call in an iskander strike which the whole process took 15-20 minutes yet we get a couple seconds grainy video before the strike and then a long distant drone pic of the charred remains of whatever it is and Russian MOD managed to identify it as patriot because of a door?

Well then I guess Russian air force should have no more issues flying near that part of the frontlines... I'm gonna guess that is not going to be the case.
