The War in the Ukraine

Tank to tank on this warfare has been virtually quite rare really, those Leos would predominantly got destroyed due to the same factors as what lead to the destruction of Ukes T-64s really
So why not filling them with something else than HEAT rounds , most probably that they don't have better... HE or antipersonnal would be way better in Ukraine.

In the vicinity of Avdeevka, the Russian Armed Forces are continuing their operation to capture the fortified area of the AFU by surrounding it. The Ukrainian military command has ordered the defense of Avdeevka at all costs. To achieve this, they have concentrated over 40 battalions from 8 brigades of the AFU, which were transferred from the western sectors of the front.
That shape of the front line, the squeezing from all sides and AFU throwing more brigades into this pocket sure feels like deja vu.

, On the morning of December 10, 2023, at least 2,508 episodes of FPV drones were published in the SVO zone, with almost 4/5 of the total (1931 episode) were published in the last four months. In November, a new monthly record — published 657 episodes.

Of the 2,508 targets, 373 were guaranteed to be destroyed, and 385 were guaranteed to be damaged. On 1092 videos successful hits are recorded, but it is not possible to assess the damage caused (in most cases it is a frame without objective control). The results of the other 336 episodes of FPV drones are not known. Unfortunately, in 184 cases there were failures.

Most often, the targets of FPV drones are: enemy positions (916 episodes), infantry outside the shelter (353 episodes), motor transport (345 episodes), various buildings (293 episodes) and light armored equipment (257 episodes).

Given the number of sources of publication, some of the staff could be lost and not taken into account in the final statistics. In addition, many even effective episodes do not enter the network. The actual combat account of FPV drones is much larger."

Which doesn't make them better. A jet engine is more expensive, and one reason why Gerans are hard to target is because their low speed means they often don't show up on radar screens as they are filtered together with the rest of the clutter.
The Russians also changed the shell to carbon fiber which also makes it more expensive.

Add a jet engine and make the whole thing out of composite and you might as well make a cruise missile. I would say the Russian MIC just don't get the design.

You could do both, mix it up. Lead the strike with difficult to intercept jet Shaheds that soak up air defences, follow up with a swarm of mopeds and finish up with the expensive ballistic and proper cruise missiles. But I must admit, the cost was also my first thought.

Shahed is a cheap, spammable cruise missile.
Scooter engine doesn't change anything here (Kh-101/102 originally was also supposed to be propeller-driven, for the matter).

Depends. If 8 out of 10 jet powered get through AD compared to 2 out of 10 prop powered get through AD, the economics may favor jet powered over prop powered. As an analogy, bullets and guns are definitely more expensive than sword, but now nobody use sword anymore. Sword is definitely more expensive than bone spear, but now nobody use bone spear anymore.

Maybe throwing in all brigades that will follow Zaluzhny... they cannot repeat the same thing than Bakhmut or maybe they can...
Even if they do that, it's not like Russians are asleep along the rest of the front. Russians are also gaining ground around Bakhmut at the same time:

The more resources are thinned out elsewhere into Avdeevka the more you expose places like Chasiv Yar.
