What do people think of the ATACMs coming to Ukraine? Can Russia's S-400s probably defend against those?

Just like any other weapons.

It's a ballistic missile therefore it's within the means of Russian S-400's or S-300V's. The thing however is that against TBM target they will have smaller coverage compared to when they were used against aircraft or cruise missile target.

The defended area will need to be bigger for sure. S-400 could do the trick but no system will stop everything. Ukraine risk also to shot them all over the place in Russian cities... so it's more a desperate escalation more or less.

The Ukrainians had Tochkas at the start of the war and it didn't do them much good. ATACAMs are basically the same thing.

The only problem could arise if America decides to provide a missile system that violates the MTCR.

supposedly yes with S-300s of different variations, S-350s and Buk-M3s, latest S-400 missiles have 60G maneuvering capabilities to deal with missiles that have 30G maneuvering capabilities like PRSM. (according to them) No Idea on the stockpile of ATACMs but Ukraine cliams iskanders in belarus got bumped up to twice the amount in numbers

It's not a ballistic missile and it's explained in this video.

Rumors are some of the ATACMs will be the cluster munition kind or the new deliveries of GMLRS will be the cluster munition. Looks like US kept some of these early versions in storage.

A Ukrainian soldier shows Russian mines on the Surovikin defense line. One of the problems of the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian army is the so-called defensive “Surovikin line” created by the Russian army. The line consists of engineering structures that go several tens of kilometers deep into the defense and are based on a developed transport and logistics network. These logistics routes allow the Russian army to quickly transfer reserves from one area to another. One of the important components of this line of defense are mines. One of the Ukrainian soldiers showed, one might say counted, what a colossal number of mines they encountered.

The Ukrainian army published footage of a Ukrainian FPV drone chasing a Russian Ka-52 helicopter. At the moment, an FPV drone does not pose a threat to a helicopter, since the speed of FPV drones reaches 250 km/h, and the Ka-52 helicopter reaches a speed of 350 km/h. But if the drone and the helicopter are on opposite flight paths, or when approaching the helicopter at an angle, the drone can hit the helicopter. With the further development of FPV drones, they will become a real threat to helicopters.

And i guess Pershing etc is not a Ballistic missile too. So does Iskander.

But that's just semantics at this point.
